Early core and postural stability is so important and a prediction of later delays. We evaluate for this alignment control all the time!

This is a very interesting article "Position of pelvis in the 3rd month of life predicts further motor development". We all agree regarding the importance of early intervention. This study examined what elements of motor skills present 3 months are predictive of motor development at 9 months. Qualitative and quantitative assessment at 3 month was documented and a neurological exam at 9 months was performed, using the Denver Developmental Screening as well as evaluation of reflexes, muscle tone and symmetry.
Clinical takeaways:
*Pelvic position at 3 months was found to have the strongest predictive value for further motor development
*Proper position of the pelvis summarizes the proper position of the whole spine
*Assessment of the pelvic position should be performed in both prone and supine
What I'm thinking about:
*This would be excellent additional information for any therapist in the community seeing infants for motor, sensory or emotional regulation differences.

“Don’t worry, they’ll grow out of it.”

Most families of kids with bedwetting hear this at some point. While it can be true, it often delays real support for kids who are already feeling the impact. 🥺

By the time many children reach school age, bedwetting is rarely just a phase. 📉 It’s usually connected to things like bowel and bladder habits, coordination, and pressure management.

✨ As a pediatric pelvic floor therapist, this is where you can make a real difference! Stop focusing only on the symptom and start looking at the whole system. ⤵️

I just shared a new case study on the blog that breaks this down through a clinical lens and shows how we dealt with this nocturnal enuresis. 🧠
