A HUGE thank you to our incredible guest speakers who poured into our mamas today! 🫶🏼

✨ Chelsea from Harbor + Hope Counseling for talking with us about perinatal mental health and sharing practical tips and encouragement for taking care of ourselves while we care for everyone else.

✨ Candis from the Saliba Center's HIPPY Program program for sharing about their amazing FREE in-home kindergarten readiness program and the resources available to local families!

☕️ And a very special thank you to Destiny from Mural City ☕️🍷🫖 for providing the coffee and tea and helping make our morning extra cozy! 🤎

We had SO much fun hanging out with you all today, and we are already looking forward to many more gatherings! 🥰

Thank you to every mama who showed up and made our first Motherhood Circle so special. This is just the beginning!

Motherhood can be beautiful and overwhelming all at the same time.

There are days filled with tiny hands, sweet kisses, belly laughs and moments we wish we could bottle up forever.

And then there are the days that leave us wondering if we’re doing enough, feeling touched out, lonely, exhausted, or simply needing someone to say, “Me too.”

That’s why we’re creating The Motherhood Circle. 🌿

A place for mothers to come together, slow down, share, listen, laugh, cry if they need to, and remember that they were never meant to carry motherhood alone.

For our very first gathering, we’re especially honored to have Chelsea Hope Keener, founder of Harbor + Hope Counseling, joining us as our special guest.

Because mental health matters!

Our emotional well-being deserves just as much care as our physical health. We want The Motherhood Circle to be a place where we can have honest conversations about the parts of motherhood that don’t always make it onto social media and where asking for support is met with compassion, never judgment.

So if you’re pregnant, holding a newborn, chasing toddlers, raising school-aged children, or somewhere else along this beautiful journey…

You belong here.

The first baby of Wiregrass Birth & Wellness was welcomed earthside this month! 🤍

And this little guy already had a personality of his own! Every time his parents got to peek at him on ultrasound, he had his little hands right up by his face. Which is exactly where he kept them as he was born! 🥹

He made his entrance with both hands tucked under his chin, also known as nuchal hands. This is a variation of presentation where one or both of baby’s hands are positioned near the head as the baby is born. It can be an unexpected finding at birth and, depending on positioning, can sometimes make the birth more challenging, but this little guy came quickly!

His birth story surprised us all when his strong mama experienced a precipitous labor. Not exactly the birth we expected for a first-time mother, but she absolutely ROCKED it! And in another sweet surprise… Mom didn’t tear! 🙌🏼

This birth was extra special for so many reasons, not only because of this beautiful family, but because it marked the very beginning of this new chapter for my practice. What started as a leap of faith is now becoming something so incredibly real.

I am endlessly thankful for every client God allows me the honor of walking alongside. I’m thankful for the trust they place in me during one of the most sacred and vulnerable experiences of their lives.

And I am SO thankful for my amazing birth assistants. Their knowledge, calm presence, strength, and skill make such a difference! I’m incredibly blessed to have women I trust so deeply standing beside me and my clients.

Most of all, I’m thankful for God’s provision and faithfulness through every step of this journey. He has opened doors, provided exactly what was needed, and brought the right people into this practice at exactly the right time. 🤍

Here’s to the very first Wiregrass Birth & Wellness baby and to all the beautiful stories still to come!

What an incredible day of learning, practicing, and connecting with our birth worker community! 🤍

5 midwives and 17 birth assistants came together for a skills drills and training day!

Each midwife led a different station where we worked through various scenarios, refreshed skills, and learned from one another.

And after all that learning? We enjoyed SO much delicious food and the gift of community. 🥰

What an honor it is to learn from other midwives, share knowledge and experience, and continue growing together so we can better serve the families in our care.

To my Alabama home birth clients: she accepts home birth babies AND she comes to YOU! 🙌🏼

No having to pack up your newborn, get everyone dressed, and leave the house for pediatrician appointments during those precious postpartum weeks when you should be resting and recovering. 😉

Such an amazing option for families! 🥰

🎉 My business license is officially renewed! 🎉

Today was the final step in the process, having the office inspected. After everything was finished, one of the inspectors asked, “Is this place for therapy?”

I couldn’t help but smile because I took it as a compliment. 🥹 The goal has always been to create a space that feels warm, peaceful, and welcoming for every family who walks through the door.

So… here’s a little sneak peek of our waiting area! ✨ We’re still putting on the finishing touches (mostly decorating!), but it’s already starting to feel like home, and we can’t wait to welcome you here. 🫶🏻
