Teamwork Makes the Dream Work! ✨
This session was a beautiful example of the magic of co-treating. When Occupational Therapy (OT) and Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) join forces, we treat the whole child in real-time.

Here is a peek behind the scenes of our play-based session:

Regulation First (OT): To focus on communication, a child first needs to feel grounded. Our OT provided a “home base” by having the child sit on her lap, offering the deep pressure and postural support needed to stay regulated and engaged.

Modeling Communication (SLP): With the “engine” running smoothly, our SLP stepped in to facilitate social play. Using a simple game of catch, she modeled “My turn!” to build turn-taking skills and functional language.

The result? A regulated, happy kiddo who is finding his voice through play!

The Co-Treat Advantage: We aren’t just working on two different goals; we are weaving them together so the child can succeed in a natural, supportive environment.

Building those muscles, one wiggle at a time!

Tummy time is like a tiny workout, and it’s one of the best things you can do for your baby’s development.

Why it matters:

Core Strength: Builds the neck, shoulder, and back muscles needed for rolling, sitting, and eventually crawling.

Motor Skills: Helps develop the hand-eye coordination they’ll use to reach for their favorite toys.

Prevents Flat Spots: Gives the back of the head a much-needed break from car seats and cribs.

Sensory Play: Changes their perspective on the world and encourages exploration.

Pro Tip: Start with just 2–3 minutes a few times a day and work your way up. Even a chest-to-chest snuggle counts as tummy time!

This April, we are shining a extra bright spotlight on our incredible Pediatric Occupational Therapists. While some might see “just play,” our OTs see milestones, breakthroughs, and the building blocks of independence.

Our PTs spent the weekend leveling up their pediatric skills with the amazing Mary Massery! We learned all about how “Breathing is the Foundation” for everything our kids do—from tummy time to running on the playground. 🏃‍♂️🌬️

We’re bringing back some incredible new “hands-on” techniques to help our tiny superheroes find their core strength and breathe easier.
