So... do you ever look like the picture on the right when you're in a seat and no one's watching? ๐Ÿ‘€

If you have a tendency to melt into a chair, you might be experiencing core weakness , and for some people also hypermobility.

Posture is important to prevent aches and pains. But if you're lacking appropriate core and posturing muscles, it's very difficult to hold yourself up.

If you're experiencing back or pelvic aches and pains, sometimes weakness and not engaging the right muscles is a contributing to your pain.

Core weakness and pelvic floor weakness are especially common after having children too. As our abdominal muscles seperate to accommodate our growing uterus, we can slowly stop engaging those muscles well and that continue into the postpartum period.

If you're melting into chairs, feeling aches and pains, targeted physical therapy can help.

How do you workout after baby?

Many new moms wonder when and how they can return to exercise or work on healing abdominal muscles.

Many of us grew up doing crunches and sit ups in gym class and default to that for ab exercises. However, did you know jumping into those exercises after baby can actually increase abdominal separation and impact pelvic floor muscles?

While 100% of moms may not need targeted physical therapy for healing, 100% deserve a consult to assess the best path for healing.

Did you know consults to pelvic floor therapists is standard in some countries? The US is finally beginning to catch up, but maybe not fast enough.

Our free 15-20 minute Belly After Baby consult assesses for diastasis recti versus typical abdominal changes after birth. One absolutely benefits from targeted therapy, the other may still benefit but home exercise might be safe too.

Whether you have concerns about your abs, back, or pelvic floor, we can help. And if you decide you'd like to move forward with targeted physical therapy, we're in network with most major insurance plans.

All physical therapists have a great foundational understanding of the body and how the musculoskeletal system functions.

However, not all physical therapists regularly work with hypermobility. It isn't uncommon to experience a joint injury and be unaware that you're actually prone to that injury because of the underlying hypermobility.

At Central Bucks PT, our therapists are familiar with hypermobility and the varying causes. Understanding the whole body impact is important not just for injury rehab but to reduce the risk of future injury.

Tailored one on one physical therapy helps improve strength, posturing, and control to reduce the risk of injury, wear and tear, and pain.

๐Ÿ“ Centralbuckspt.com if you're navigating extra bendy joints, wear and tear, and need help navigating chronic pain or discomfort.

The neat party tricks to adult backaches pipeline is real.

If you were super flexible as a kid, how are your joints, back, and pelvic floor feeling ๐Ÿ‘€

Many kids who are very flexible happen to have joint hypermobility. Hypermobility can lead to joint wear and tear, muscle strain, and subpar posturing.

As we go from party tricks to office chairs or heavy lifting, our flexibility has a tendency to catch up to us. And pregnancy? Well....that's a huge test on the body.

Wondering if your backaches, joint pain, or posture difficulties could be hypermobility? A one to one physical therapy assessment can help tailor a treatment plan to help you feel more stable whatever the cause.
