Here’s how an internal bra works: 👇

When breast implants are placed above the muscle, some patients may benefit from a little extra support.

👉 Dr. Petersen uses a specialized surgical mesh that acts as a scaffold, providing reinforcement while encouraging the body’s natural tissue to grow into and around it.

👉 Over time, the body gradually absorbs the mesh as new collagen-rich tissue develops in its place.

Depending on the material used, this process can take approximately 18–24 months.

Not every breast augmentation requires an internal bra, but for the right patient, it can be a valuable addition to the procedure. 🤍
