We want to give a shout out to our therapist Clint! We have loved having him here at our office, bringing a light to his clients and those around him, especially during Mental Health Awareness Month. When asked about what the most rewarding part of being a therapist has been for him, he shared:

"The most rewarding part of being a therapist is having the honor of witnessing clients heal. I don't take it for granted when a client honestly and vulnerably faces a struggle they may have carried for years. Perhaps it is trauma suffered in childhood, or an emotional wound from their adult life. To be trusted by a client enough for them to open up and feel safe processing their deep hurts...that is truly an honor. There are some really special, even sacred moments in therapy when a client makes a connection, or a belief or perspective shifts, and it changes everything. Healing can start, bringing relief from pain and unburdening the weight of self-blame. This takes a lot of bravery and strength because it requires facing the painful or scary thing that they may have been trying to avoid. So yeah, when I sit with a client and they feel safe enough to confront those painful or scary things, it is rewarding for me to be a part of that."

๐ŸŒŸ We want to give a shout out to our therapist Elena! ๐ŸŒŸ We have loved having her on our team and helping those in our community.
We asked Elena to share a habit that seems small but has helped her with her own mental health, and here is what she had to say:

"A small habit that has had a big impact on my mental health is practicing stillness and intentionally doing nothing for a short period each day. This includes not scrolling, not listening to anything, and not trying to be productive. Instead, just practice sitting, noticing, and letting things be (preferably outdoors!)
At first, it can feel pointless or uncomfortable. My mind wants to fill the space immediately with thoughts, worries, or random to-do lists. However, the more you practice, the easier it gets! It creates a small window of time where your mind can settle and process what it hasnโ€™t had time to process."
