A first bank account may seem like a small step, but for many young people, it's the beginning of greater independence.

Recently, some of our LAUNCH clients had the opportunity to open their very first bank accounts through a partnership between the CT Department of Children and Families and Liberty Bank. Along with opening their accounts, they participated in financial education designed to help them build confidence in budgeting, saving, and managing their money as they prepare for adulthood.

At My People Community Services, we're proud to support young people as they develop the life skills they need to succeed. Congratulations to our LAUNCH participants on taking this important step toward their future!

This Fourth of July, we celebrate more than our nation's independence. We celebrate the strength of our communities, the resilience of the people we serve, and the opportunities that help individuals and families build brighter futures.

At My People Community Services, we believe strong communities are built when people come together to support, encourage, and uplift one another. As we gather with family, friends, and neighbors this holiday, we're reminded that meaningful change happens when we invest in each other.

From all of us at My People Community Services, we wish you a safe, joyful, and happy Fourth of July.

Today, we celebrate and say thank you to our Marketing Coordinator, Lynisa Ruiz-Gandarilla, as she begins an exciting new chapter.

Over the past year, Lynisa has helped tell the story of My People Community Services by highlighting the people, programs, partnerships, and moments that make our work so meaningful. Through her creativity, dedication, and passion for community, she has helped strengthen our connection with those we serve and those who support our mission.

While we're sad to see her go, we're incredibly grateful for all she has contributed and couldn't be more excited for this next opportunity. We wish Lynisa continued success as she begins this new journey.

Thank you for everything, Lynisa. Once part of My People, always part of the My People family.

Please join us in wishing her the very best in the comments!

Yesterday, My People Clinical Services had the privilege of hosting our Thriving Young Families Resource Dinner, an event supported by the Office of Early Childhood and Windham School District, bringing together pregnant and parenting teens for an evening centered on support, connection, and practical resources.

Families received baby items based on their individual needs while connecting with organizations dedicated to helping them navigate pregnancy, parenthood, and life beyond. Events like this are about more than providing supplies. They're about making sure young families know they have a community standing beside them.

A heartfelt thank you to the Office of Early Childhood and Windham School District for supporting this event, as well as our incredible vendors:
A Mother Level: Doula Care & Birth Services
TD Bank
NuBeing Doula Services
Postpartum Support International Connecticut Chapter
OBGYN and Midwifery of Connecticut
Your partnership, time, and commitment helped make this event meaningful for every family who attended.

Together, we continue building a community that serves, supports, collaborates, and succeeds together.

They're off!

The 3rd Annual Men's Health & Wellness Weekend has officially begun as this incredible group of men heads to Jay Peak, Vermont for a weekend dedicated to rest, reflection, connection, and personal growth.

This weekend was intentionally created to give men dedicated time to step away from their daily routines, recharge mentally and physically, build meaningful connections, and return home with renewed focus and purpose.

We wish everyone safe travels and can't wait to share highlights from the weekend. Here's to investing in yourself because your health matters.

Today, we celebrate the fathers, father figures, mentors, and men who continue to show up for their children, families, and communities with love, guidance, and support.

At My People Community Services, we recognize the important role fathers and positive male role models play in helping young people grow with confidence, stability, and encouragement. Fatherhood comes in many forms, and today we honor the impact of those who lead, support, teach, and care for others every day.

Happy Father’s Day from My People Community Services.
