June is Men’s Mental Health Month, and Hartford Public Library is creating space for real conversations, healing, growth, and connection.

Join Access GREENADINE , Brave Warrior LLC, The Manhood Tree , and community leaders throughout June for a series of events focused on relationships, fatherhood, leadership, emotional wellness, and personal growth.

From “Leadership in Loving Relationships” with Malik Champlain to “Fatherhood Manologues” hosted by Abdul-Rahmaan I. Muhammad , these conversations are designed to encourage men to reflect, connect, and grow together.

Too often men are told to carry everything in silence. These events are a reminder that checking in, speaking up, and prioritizing mental wellness matters.

Take time this month to invest in yourself. Join the conversation at Hartford Public Library Downtown, Classroom 139, 500 Main Street, Hartford, CT.

On May 28th, ladies from My People Community Services had the honor of showing up to support the 5th grade girls of Grace Academy Hartford during their Moving Up Ceremony.

Over time, our team has had the opportunity to mentor and connect with these young ladies, making this moment even more special to witness. Celebrating their accomplishments, growth, and transition into a new chapter was a reminder of how important encouragement, mentorship, and community support can be in the lives of young people.

Congratulations to all of the students on this exciting milestone. We are proud of you and excited to see all that comes next.

This Memorial Day, we pause to honor and remember the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

Their sacrifice is a reminder of the cost of freedom and the importance of coming together in reflection and gratitude.

We recognize and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

May is National Foster Care Month.

In Connecticut:
• Over 2,500 children are in foster care
• Over 100 children enter care each month
• There are fewer foster homes than youth in need

At My People we work in collaboration with CT Department of Children and Families to recruit and train foster parents, helping strengthen the support system for youth across our state.

Behind every number is a young person navigating change, transition, and uncertainty. Support, stability, and connection matter.

Take a moment to learn more, share, and consider how you can be part of the support system.

My People Community Services recently attended Bringing Our Children Home: Alignment for the Children Still Waiting, a symposium facilitated by YWCA Hartford Region and CT Department of Children and Families focused on strengthening family-centered and community-based solutions for children and youth across Connecticut.

The event brought together leaders, organizations, practitioners, and community voices committed to creating safer, more stable, and nurturing environments for children and families. Throughout the day, conversations centered on collaboration, accountability, and the continued work needed to support youth and families through meaningful systems change.

We are also proud that our Executive Director, Abdul-Rahmaan I. Muhammad, presented on leadership during the symposium, contributing to important discussions around community engagement and supporting children and families through collaborative work.
