Introduced to wheelchair rugby during his rehabilitation at Craig, Nick found much more than a sport.
“At first glance, wheelchair rugby is just a sport—fast, brutal and chaotic,” Nick says. “But for those of us who roll onto the court, it’s about freedom, community, independence and power. It reminds us that disability does not define us.”
Today, Nick coaches the Denver Barbarians Wheelchair Rugby Club and continues to help others experience the same sense of belonging and purpose that wheelchair rugby brought to his life.
Want to see the sport in action? Join us on June 25 for the Craig Hospital Foundation’s Impact Celebration and watch a live wheelchair rugby exhibition match while learning how your support helps make stories like Nick’s possible.
