For Emily Altman, Occupational Therapist at The Heritage, therapy is all about helping residents stay independent and get back to doing the things that matter most to them! 💪💙

One of Emily’s favorite parts of being an OT is getting to know each person individually and learning what’s important to them. Whether it’s building the skills needed for everyday activities, gaining confidence, or working toward greater independence, Emily loves making therapy a positive experience residents can feel good about. 🌟

Because at The Heritage, rehabilitation isn’t just about completing exercises — it’s about helping you get back to your life, your routine, and the things you love. 🏡✨

When Emily isn’t working with our residents, you can usually find her spending time with family or cheering on her favorite sports teams! 🏈🏀📣

Picture it… Deb, her mom, and one GOLDEN night! 🤩💕

If there’s one thing Deb LOVES, it’s The Golden Girls! 📺🌟 So for her Live a Dream, we brought her favorite ladies to life with a special trip to see a Golden Girls show! And because some memories are even sweeter when shared, we made sure to snag an extra ticket so her mom could join in on the fun! 🥹❤️

A whole lot of laughs, a little Golden Girls magic, and a memory worth its weight in GOLD! 💛🌴

💙 Meet Shileigh, One of Our Physical Therapist Assistants! 💪✨

Shileigh Robertson joined The Heritage team in May 2026 and also lends her talents to our sister campus in Ottawa! She brings an incredible 12 years of experience working as a PTA in the skilled nursing setting. 🩺👏

One of Shileigh’s favorite parts of her job is getting to laugh, have fun, and build relationships with residents — all while working hard to help each person reach their highest possible level of function. 💙

She believes therapy can be both productive and enjoyable, and that positive energy can make a big difference throughout the rehabilitation journey! 😊💪

Whether you’re recovering after a hospital stay or working toward greater strength and independence, having someone encouraging you along the way can make all the difference. ✨

🩺🏆 The Votes Are In… Dr. Gerard for OGO! 🎉❤️

The people have spoken, and September’s OGO (Oh Great One) is none other than our very own Chuck! 👏🥳

Although, around here, you might know him better as Dr. Gerard! 😂🩺 What started as a nickname from one of our residents has become a campus favorite, and it’s safe to say Chuck has no choice but to embrace it! 🤣❤️And judging by his campaign poster, we’d say Dr. Gerard has quite the fan club! 🗳️👏

But all jokes aside, we couldn’t be more excited to celebrate someone who is SO deserving of this recognition! 💙

Chuck is one of those special people who makes The Heritage what it is. His heart for our residents, dedication to providing exceptional care, and ability to bring comfort, laughter, and reassurance to those around him are what make him such an incredible nurse. ❤️

The relationships Chuck has built with our residents are a true reflection of the person he is. To them, he’s so much more than the nurse caring for them. He’s someone they trust, look forward to seeing, and share plenty of laughs with along the way! 🥹💕

And while Chuck may not be one to seek the spotlight, this recognition is long overdue! His hard work, compassion, and the difference he makes in the lives of our residents deserve to be celebrated! 🌟
