Welp. One person showed up to my workshop this morning.

I’m not going to pretend there wasn’t a moment where my heart sank a little.

I was excited. I was nervous.

Regardless, I was genuinely looking forward to sitting in a room with a handful of women and share this passion project of mine.

To have the kinds of conversations I think we desperately need more of, and share something I genuinely believe can make a difference.

Instead, I sat down with one.

And you know what?

It was beautiful ✨

We talked. We laughed. We went deep. I got to share what I came there to share, and she trusted me enough to share some very real pieces of herself with me.

Was there disappointment?

Yep.

But somewhere in the middle of that conversation, I stopped thinking about the empty chairs.

Because the one that wasn’t empty mattered.

And that feels pretty fu***ng important. 🫶

Apparently the reward for showing up for myself for 30 days straight...

is continuing to do things that are terrifying 😅✨

So, naturally, this weekend I’m hosting my first little workshop/research gathering:

WHY AM I STILL LIKE THIS?

We’re getting into why you can survive all the things, do all the therapy, become painfully self-aware of your own bulls**t...and STILL find yourself getting hijacked by the same old patterns.

There will be coffee. There will be snacks. There will be nervous system nerdiness.

And apparently there will be me, continuing to even after the 30 days are up. 🫠

Because, you know, that was the whole damn point. 💥

𝗬𝗼𝘂’𝘃𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸.

Therapy. Books. Healing. Self-awareness. Maybe enough personal development to earn an honorary degree. 😆

So WHY are you still getting hijacked by the same s**t?

Why does someone’s tone change and your body immediately go on alert?

Why do you KNOW you’re overreacting... while simultaneously being completely unable to stop?

Why are you still people-pleasing, snapping, shutting down, or walking around feeling responsible for everybody?

𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗲’𝗿𝗲 𝗴𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗸 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁.

This weekend I’m hosting a FREE small-group conversation + nervous system mini-workshop for women 40+:

💥 𝗪𝗛𝗬 𝗔𝗠 𝗜 𝗦𝗧𝗜𝗟𝗟 𝗟𝗜𝗞𝗘 𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗦?

We’re going to talk about what’s actually happening in the body when the pressure builds and these old survival patterns take over; why that can look like exploding, shutting down, or white-knuckling it under a perfectly calm exterior; and we’ll practice a simple tool to help bring some of that pressure down.

I also want to hear from 𝗬𝗢𝗨!

I’m researching and building 𝗕𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗨𝗻𝗙*𝗰𝗸𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲, a program for women whose nervous systems haven't figured out that it's ok to stand down. I want to understand this from the inside out - not just my own experience, but yours.

What sets you off. What it feels like when that pressure starts building. What you’ve tried. What’s helped. What hasn’t. What you’re sooooo tired of managing. And what you actually need to move forward.

𝗦𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗮 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽. 𝗜𝘁’𝘀 𝗮 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀. 💜

So... apparently I've reached the stage of life where I'm voluntarily gathering a room full of women to talk about why we're all one mildly inconvenient text message away from becoming Crashout Barbie. 😆

I'm putting together a new coaching program called Becoming UnF*ckwithable, and before I finish building it, I want to hear from real women about what this actually looks like in everyday life.

If you've ever thought:

"Why the hell am I STILL like this?"
..I made something for you.

I'm hosting a free, small-group workshop next Sunday, and I'd love to have you there!

Come hang out. Bring your coffee-drinking, self-aware, occasionally unhinged self. 💜

Location TBD. Stay tuned

Day29 🎉🎉🎉
MOVIE DAY!!! 🕷️🕸️

Plus, I bit the bullet and filmed this looking like absolute crap 🤣

I was watching Brand New Day today, and Bruce Banner said something that poked me right in the heart space.

“What if you’re trying to control the expression of something that needs to be expressed?”

And damn if that isn’t shadow work.

Peter was terrified of what was emerging in him. He saw it as dark. Dangerous. Something he needed to suppress.

Until he learned to embrace it.

It wasn’t a monster.

It was his power.

Sometimes the parts of ourselves we’re most afraid of aren’t asking to be destroyed.

They’re asking to be understood. 💜

So...what happens when the survival strategies we learned as kids follow us into adulthood?

Yesterday we hugged our inner child.
Today,.we talk about why that actually does something.

When you were little and life felt unpredictable, your nervous system learned to protect you.

Get loud. 📢

Get small. 🥺

Get perfect. 🎁

Get angry. 👹

Whatever worked.

But it wasn't just one moment. Every experience that made you feel unsafe piled on top of the last.

And for some of us, the piling never stopped - conditioning our system to stay on guard.

Always scanning. Always bracing.

That's why we snap at the small things.

That's why we feel terrible when the people around us aren't happy.

That's why we can go from fine to fury in half a second and wonder what just happened.

Your nervous system has been doing overtime for decades. Nobody ever told it the shift was over. ✌️

When we offer ourselves safety - a hand on your chest, a breath, a kind word to our younger self - we activate the vagus nerve. The part of our brain responsible for rest and calm. We send a signal that says "we're ok right now."

Over time, that rewires the default.

That's not woo. That's neuroscience 🤓

And it's worth doing 💫💜💫

Sometimes the little version of you who learned to be tough, loud, hyper-independent, angry, invisible, perfect, useful, funny, whatever she needed to be...

Simply needs to know she’s safe now 💜

She needs the grown-up version of you to show up and say:

I’ve got you.
You don’t have to do this alone anymore.

And that rage goblin?
Sometimes she’s just standing guard over a very small person who never felt protected in the first place.

Healing your inner child doesn't always mean digging through the past.
She just needs to be seen. She needs to be loved. And she needs to be told that it's ok, she doesn't have to protect herself anymore.

So today, I invite you to take a minute and give that little version of you a hug. ✨

💜
