As National Health Center Week comes to a close, we pause with gratitude for everyone who makes the Community Health Center mission possible.

To our patients who trust us with their care, our employees who serve with compassion, our Board members who guide our mission, and our community partners and supporters who help extend our reach—thank you. Every contribution helps us provide accessible, high-quality, whole-person care throughout our rural communities.

The 2026 theme, “Building Innovative Care Where It Matters Most,” also challenges us to look ahead. The Community Health Center movement has a bold vision to serve 1 in 3 Americans and help ensure health for all.

At Tulip Tree Family Health Care, our future includes expanding access, strengthening partnerships, responding to changing community needs, and continuing to remove barriers that prevent people from receiving care. While the ways we serve may evolve, our purpose remains constant: meeting people where they are with care, dignity, and hope.

We are grateful for how far we have come—and excited about what we will build together.

Community Health Centers do not succeed alone. Our ability to meet the needs of our patients and communities is strengthened by collaboration with public agencies, nonprofit organizations, health care providers, schools, businesses, government leaders, food assistance programs, housing organizations, foundations, and many others.

At Tulip Tree Family Health Care, these partnerships help us extend care beyond the exam room. Together, we connect patients with essential resources, address barriers to better health, expand access to services, and develop innovative solutions tailored to our rural communities.

To every organization and individual who works alongside Tulip Tree: thank you for your trust, collaboration, and dedication. Your partnership helps us provide whole-person care and build healthier, stronger communities.

Today, we recognize the unique health care needs, challenges, and strengths of rural communities.

For many rural residents, receiving care can mean traveling long distances, navigating transportation barriers, or facing limited access to medical, dental, and behavioral health providers. Community Health Centers help close these gaps by bringing high-quality, affordable care closer to home.

As the smallest Federally Qualified Health Center in Indiana, Tulip Tree Family Health Care understands that rural health care is not one-size-fits-all. It requires listening to our neighbors, building strong community partnerships, connecting patients with essential resources, and adapting services to meet local needs.

The 2026 National Health Center Week theme, “Building Innovative Care Where It Matters Most,” reflects our commitment to providing whole-person care where it is needed most—right here in the rural communities we are honored to serve.

Rural communities deserve care that is accessible, responsive, and built around the people who call them home.

Community Health Centers play a critical role in helping people prevent illness, detect health concerns early, receive timely treatment, and manage chronic conditions.

At Tulip Tree Family Health Care, this work includes vaccinations, cancer screenings, heart health, diabetes care, treatment of acute illness, and ongoing support for chronic diseases. By providing accessible, coordinated care close to home, we help patients take an active role in their health and reduce the risk of more serious complications.

Tulip Tree is committed to meeting the unique health needs of our rural communities. Through prevention, early intervention, treatment, education, and whole-person support, we are helping build healthier lives and stronger communities.

Today, we celebrate the reason behind everything we do—our patients.

Thank you for trusting Tulip Tree Family Health Care with your health and allowing us to care for you and your families. Your experiences, needs, and voices guide our work and inspire us to continue improving how we serve our communities.

The 2026 National Health Center Week theme, “Building Innovative Care Where It Matters Most,” begins with listening to the people who know their communities best. Together, we are creating care that goes beyond the exam room—supporting physical, dental, and emotional health while connecting patients with resources for the whole person.

Today, we celebrate the heart of Tulip Tree Family Health Care—our employees.

Providing whole-person care takes an entire team. Every patient welcomed, phone call answered, appointment scheduled, claim processed, facility maintained, resource connection made, and service provided contributes to our mission.

The 2026 National Health Center Week theme, “Building Innovative Care Where It Matters Most,” reflects the work our staff does every day. Your compassion, creativity, resilience, and teamwork allow us to meet the changing needs of our rural communities and ensure our patients receive the care and support they deserve.

To every member of the Tulip Tree team: thank you for supporting our patients, encouraging one another, and serving our communities with purpose and heart. We are deeply grateful for all you do—both the work that is seen and the countless contributions made behind the scenes.

National Health Center Week: Then & Now

Community Health Centers began with a bold idea: quality health care should be available to everyone, regardless of income, insurance status, or where they live. What started by serving a handful of communities has grown into a nationwide movement reaching 1 in 7 Americans.

Tulip Tree Family Health Care is proud to be part of that story. From our early days to serving patients across multiple locations today, we have continued to grow and innovate in response to the needs of our rural communities.

Our services have expanded to include integrated medical, dental, and behavioral health care—along with resource connections that support the whole person. Although much has changed, our commitment to providing compassionate, accessible care remains the same.

The 2026 National Health Center Week theme, “Building Innovative Care Where It Matters Most,” reflects what Community Health Centers do every day: meet people where they are, identify local needs, and create solutions that strengthen the health of the entire community.

This week, we celebrate how far we have come—and the patients, employees, community partners, and supporters who continue to make our progress possible.
