Not every sniffle is “just a cold.” Knowing the difference can save you time and stress.

Here’s a quick breakdown:

• Common Cold: mild symptoms, runny nose, slight cough, gradual onset
• Flu: hits fast, body aches, fatigue, fever, chills
• Allergies: itchy eyes, sneezing, clear drainage, no body aches

If your symptoms feel intense, linger longer than expected, or just don’t add up, it’s worth getting checked.

Getting answers early can make all the difference in how quickly you recover!

Colorado's views are worth the climb, but sometimes your body needs a little more time to adjust.

Headache, nausea, dizziness, fatigue and shortness of breath can all be signs of altitude sickness, especially after traveling to a higher elevation quickly.

Mild symptoms may improve with rest and hydration, but symptoms that worsen or don't improve may need medical attention.

If altitude sickness is getting in the way of your Colorado plans, AFC Urgent Care can help. Walk in or schedule a visit.

Cyclosporiasis is a foodborne illness caused by the microscopic parasite Cyclospora. Health officials are investigating cases in multiple states, with fresh produce remaining a suspected source in some illnesses. 🥗

Common symptoms may include:

Watery diarrhea
Nausea
Stomach cramps and bloating
Fatigue
Low-grade fever

Symptoms often don't appear until about one week after exposure, and without treatment, they can last for several weeks or even come and go over time.

To help reduce your risk:

Wash your hands before preparing food
Rinse fresh fruits and vegetables under running water
Refrigerate perishable foods promptly
Follow safe food handling practices

If you're experiencing persistent diarrhea, dehydration, or other concerning gastrointestinal symptoms, AFC is here to help. Our medical team can evaluate your symptoms, recommend appropriate testing when needed, and help determine the right treatment plan.
