PCOS Has a New Name

You may begin hearing a new term: PMOS (Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome).

The name change reflects what healthcare providers have long known—this condition affects much more than the ovaries. It can impact hormones, metabolism, fertility, weight, skin health, and overall well-being.

Experts hope the new name will improve understanding, reduce confusion, and help more women receive timely diagnosis and care.

While the name is changing, the focus remains the same: supporting women with compassionate, comprehensive care.

đź’ś Have questions about PMOS/PCOS? Talk with one of our midwifes or give us a call at 970-221-4977.

Preeclampsia can happen quickly—and knowing the signs matters.

If you’re pregnant, watch for symptoms like:
• Severe headaches
• Changes in vision (blurred vision, seeing spots)
• Swelling in the face or hands
• Upper abdominal pain
• Sudden weight gain
• Shortness of breath

If something doesn’t feel right, trust your instincts and reach out to your provider.

At A Woman’s Place, we’re here to listen, support, and help keep you and your baby safe.

Infant loss and pregnancy loss carry a depth of grief that words often can’t hold.

At A Woman’s Place, we are honored to walk alongside families in every moment, both the joyful and the heartbreaking. As one patient shared, even in the midst of a devastating diagnosis, “I felt so supported throughout… she cried with us and held my hand.”

That kind of care—compassionate, present, and deeply human—is what every family deserves.

If you are navigating loss, please know you are not alone. For support and resources, please contact our office at 970-221-4977.
