Meet Amanda Keare. 👋

Amanda is a certified speech-language pathologist with over 15 years of experience working with clients of all ages across a wide range of settings and needs.

What makes Amanda truly unique is her deep connection to the Deaf community. She is married to a Deaf man, fluent in American Sign Language, and has a background in Linguistics that shapes everything about how she approaches communication.

She has run her own business providing sign language instruction and language development trainings to preschools and daycare providers across Northern Colorado.

Amanda specializes in:
🗣️ Voice disorders and vocal cord dysfunction (VCD)
🧠 Cognitive-linguistic dysfunction
🤟 ASL language development
📖 Phonological development

She has worked in acute care, rehabilitation hospitals, schools, outpatient neurorehabilitation, in-home care, nursing homes, and telepractice.

At LightHouse WholeHealth, Amanda is excited to be part of a transdisciplinary team where every client gets the kind of whole-person, holistic care they deserve.

It's one of the most common questions parents ask.

Every child develops at their own pace, and it's true that some kids talk later than others and catch up just fine. But there are also times when a little extra support early on can make a significant difference in a child's communication journey — and waiting too long can mean missing a window.

Here are a few signs it may be worth reaching out for an evaluation:
⚠️ Your child isn't saying any words by 12 months or two-word phrases by 24 months
⚠️ They seem frustrated when trying to communicate
⚠️ Other children their age are communicating more clearly or frequently
⚠️ You notice they understand what you're saying but struggle to respond verbally
⚠️ Their speech is difficult for familiar people to understand

An evaluation doesn't mean something is wrong, it means you're paying attention. And if support is needed, starting early gives your child the best possible foundation.

We start with a short phone consultation so we can understand what's going on and make sure we're setting you up with the right support from the start.

From there, your first appointment is about meeting your therapist, completing an initial assessment, and building a plan that actually fits your child and your family — not a one-size-fits-all checklist.
