Registration for Tune In, Uke Out has been extended by ONE MORE WEEK!

Join us for this fun and supportive music therapy and mental wellness group for teens ages 13–16, now running August 25th–September 15th at our Melbourne, FL studio!

Participants will explore:

Last but definitely not least of our newest group of interns, welcome Sara to the Brevard FMT Team!

Hello! I’m Sara DeSimone and I’m a new intern at Florida Music Therapy in Brevard County, Melbourne. I am originally from New Jersey and studied at the Frost School of Music, University of Miami. I love a variety of music and I sang with the Frost Chorale for three years. I enjoy singing musical theatre the most, but I enjoy all genres of music. I played clarinet in public school from fourth grade on, and I played the cello starting in eighth grade. I love that Music Therapy creates a safe environment for participants to work toward their goals in a noninvasive format, and that music provides a perfect structure for targeting a diverse and extensive range of non-musical goals covering all domains of daily life. For self care, I like to take care of myself through cardio, strength training, and meditation. I enjoy calling and spending time with family and friends, watching familiar shows, skiing (not in Florida), and outdoor activities including but not limited to going to the beach, paddle boarding, skateboarding, and biking. I am so excited to be here at FMT for my internship!

A warm welcome to our newest Lee County intern, Audrey!

Hi! My name is Audrey Dahlman and I am the new intern at Florida Music Therapy’s Lee County location. I am from Lombard, Illinois, and I graduated from Illinois State University this past May with a Bachelor’s in Music therapy. Some of my favorite hobbies are swimming, playing video games, doing puzzles, and hanging out with my friends and family! I also really enjoy composing music, color guard, and juggling! I really love music therapy because it is beneficial to all in so many ways. Whether the music aids you through emotions, social connection, creativity, or even the way it can affect our physical bodies. Music therapy is so dynamic and brings so much joy!
