It’s funny how we call herbs and plant remedies “alternative,” when they’ve actually been used to heal long before prescriptions ever existed. Aspirin came from willow bark. Metformin (a common diabetes drug) came from French lilac. Nature has always known what it’s doing.

But there’s another system shifting at the same time: your gut microbiome.

The trillions of bacteria in your gut influence metabolism, immune balance, brain function, inflammation, and even how you process estrogen. And during perimenopause and menopause, this ecosystem changes.
