This one's for the person who did everything right — the surgery, the boot, the PT — and still doesn't feel like themselves. You're not being dramatic, and you're not stuck. An outcome you're unhappy with is a question that deserves a workup: fresh imaging, fresh eyes, honest options. Sometimes that means rehab. Sometimes revision. Either way, you deserve to know. Second opinions are exactly what they're for.

Achilles ruptures used to mean one thing: a long incision and a long road. The PARS technique changed the first part — same strong repair, done through a small incision with far less soft tissue opened up. It's not right for every rupture (timing, tendon quality, and your goals all matter), which is exactly why the evaluation matters.

Everyone knows someone with a new knee or hip. Almost nobody knows the ankle can be replaced — or that a collapsed talus can be rebuilt with a 3D-printed implant. If you've been told "fusion or live with it," it's worth one more conversation. Candidacy is real (bone quality, alignment, activity level all matter) — but so are the options.

Your ankle shouldn't be a plot twist. If it buckles on flat ground, if you plan your life around "safe" surfaces, if the tape and brace are just part of getting dressed — that's chronic ankle instability, and it's fixable. The right rehab handles a lot of it. When it doesn't, those stretched-out ligaments can be repaired. Either way: stop living with an ankle you can't trust.

Two weeks. That's my line. Foot or ankle pain that changes how you move for more than two weeks deserves a real diagnosis — not another month of "walking it off." Most of what I see in clinic never needs surgery. But all of it needed an answer sooner.

You've checked the shoe five times. There's no pebble. 👟

That "walking on a pebble" feeling in the ball of your foot has a name: Morton's neuroma.

→ A small nerve between the toes becomes irritated and thickened
→ Most often between the 3rd and 4th toes
→ Narrow shoes and heels squeeze it with every step
→ It often comes and goes at first… then stops going
→ Caught early, most calm down WITHOUT surgery

If you've been shaking out that shoe for weeks, it's not the shoe. Get it evaluated.

26 bones. 33 joints. Over 100 muscles, tendons and ligaments.

That's ONE foot. 🦶

Both feet hold about a quarter of all the bones in your body — a structure that absorbs your full body weight thousands of times a day, for decades.

When something that intricate starts hurting, "walk it off" isn't a plan.

That first step out of bed shouldn't feel like stepping on glass. 🦶

Sharp heel pain with your first morning steps — that eases as you walk — is the classic sign of plantar fasciitis.

→ A thick band of tissue under your foot tightens overnight
→ Cold, tight tissue + first steps = that stabbing pain
→ It fades as it warms up, so most people ignore it
→ The longer it's ignored, the more stubborn it gets
→ Most cases improve WITHOUT surgery when treated early

If your mornings have started like this for more than a few weeks, get it evaluated — an exam and a plan built for your foot.

Your feet are the farthest thing from your heart — which makes them the first place some problems show up. 🦶

5 signals worth listening to:
→ Cold feet or skin color changes — circulation may be struggling
→ Numbness, burning, or tingling — nerve trouble, common with diabetes
→ A cut or blister that won't heal — never normal
→ New swelling in just ONE foot or ankle — call the same week
→ Foot pain that changes how you walk — your whole body pays for that

None of these mean panic. All of them mean: don't ignore it.

"It felt like someone kicked me — but no one was there." 🎾

That's how patients describe a torn Achilles tendon, almost word for word.

→ It usually happens on a sudden push-off — basketball, tennis, pickleball
→ Many hear or feel a POP
→ The sharp pain often settles quickly… which is the trap
→ Some people can still walk on it — and assume it's fine
→ A weak push-off after a pop is the sign that matters

An Achilles rupture treated early — with or without surgery — heals very differently than one discovered a month later. Felt the pop? Get evaluated this week, not "when it doesn't get better."
