James Harold Flemings, 85, Patriot, Ohio passed away at Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis, Ohio, Tuesday, June 9, 2026. He was born February 8, 1941, in Mount Gay, West Virginia, to the late Hayes and Mary Bryant Flemings. Harold married Oma Sue (Mills) Flemings on November 24, 1965, in Inez, Kentucky and she preceded him in death on February 24, 2022.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his children: Rhonda Flemings, Ft. Pierce, Florida, Kevin Flemings, Titusville, Florida, Kimberly Skaggs, Hilliard, Ohio, Christopher Flemings, Patriot, Ohio and Angel (Kenneth) Congrove, Oak Hill, Ohio; grandchildren: Ashley Moraru, Bubby (Allison) Blackburn, Diana (Cody) Spaun, Erin (Trevor) Kennedy, Harley Skaggs, Kenneth (Kenna) Congrove and Jeannah Flemings; great-grandchildren: Caelan, Brenton, Liam, Bryson, Jace, Maddox, Autumn, Aiden, Noah, Dawson, Makinley and Raeleigh.

He is also survived by sister, Maxine Flemings, Springfield, Ohio and brother, Glen (Oma) Flemings, Wayne, West Virginia.

In addition to his parents and wife, Oma, Harold was preceded in death by a son, Harold Eugene Flemings, grandson, John Blackburn; brothers, Doug, Bill, Gary, Ed, Jay and Charles Flemings and sisters, Evelyn Brunty and Faye Lafferty.

Family and friends may call at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton Chapel, Monday June 15, 2026, 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Graveside services will follow in Old Pine Cemetery, Rio Grande.

Johnny Lee Shepherd, 74, Bidwell, Ohio passed away Saturday, June 6, 2026, at Holzer Senior Care Center, Bidwell. He was born on March 27, 1952, in Ironton, Ohio, the son of the late Leslie and Angeline (Riffe) Shepherd.

Johnny is survived by son Rodney (Paula Webb) Shepherd, Wheelersburg, Ohio: two sisters: Freedia (Robert) Bowles, Perrysburg, Ohio and Sylvia Fannery, Vanceburg, Kentucky; five grandchildren, Makayla (Dakota) Jones, Alexandria Logan, Logan Lee Shepherd, Melanie Jolee Shepherd and Brayden Lee Shepherd; four great grandchildren, Olivia, Matthew, Keegan Clarkson as well as Hollie Jones and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Myra (Kent) Shepherd, daughter, Holly and six siblings, Claude, James, Louise (Gilliam), Joyce (Lyles), Joan (Pack), Libby (Larado) and Linda Shepherd.

A Memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, June 12, 2026, in the Newsom Family Cemetery, Oak Hill, Ohio. The McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, is honored to serve the Shepherd Family.

Rita Elizabeth Hager, 76, of Bidwell, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2026, in Holzer Senior Care Center, Bidwell, Ohio.

Rita was born March 3, 1950, the fourth of six children of Francis Lee and Florence Epplin Eisfelder in Pinckneyville, Illinois. Rita graduated from Pinckneyville High School in 1968 and attended St. Joseph’s School of Nursing in Alton, Illinois, receiving her Bachelors in Nursing in 1971.

She met her husband, John “Mike” Hager, while attending nursing school. Mike was in the Army, stationed at Fort Leonard, Missouri. Rita and Mike married February 5, 1972, in Pinckneyville and resided in Bidwell, Ohio.

Rita was a nurse at Holzer Hospital when she first moved to Ohio and was later employed by Gallipolis Developmental Center, where she worked until her retirement in 2000. Rita was a devoted nurse and loved working with the elderly. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Surviving Rita are her grandchildren, Jon (Valerie) Campbell and Josh (Selena) Campbell, both of Bidwell, Abby (Silas) Machado of Rio Grande, Jacob Campbell (Ashton Webb), Alexis Campbell (Nathan Peifer) and Anna Campbell, all of Gallipolis; five great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Michael Campbell of Gallipolis, brother-in-law, Pat Hager of Bidwell and numerous nieces and nephews

Rita and Mike had one daughter, Kathy, who preceded her in death in 2001. In addition, she was preceded by her husband, parents, sister, Pat Ozella, father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Jerry Hager, and sister-in-law, Barbara Hager Wolfe.

Visitation for Rita will be held at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis, Tuesday, June 9, 2026, from 11:00 AM to Noon. The rosary will be said at Noon. After the rosary, Family and Friends will proceed to St. Louis Catholic Church in Gallipolis for Funeral service with burial to follow in the Ohio Valley Memory Gardens, Gallipolis, Ohio.

The Family invites all attendees to a luncheon following the burial back at the church.

Joe “Junkman” Roe, 66, of Vinton, Ohio passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2026, in St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington, West Virginia. Joe was born November 17, 1959, at Point Pleasant, West Virginia, son to the late Dallas and Glenna (Walker) Roe.

A die-hard Cincinnati Bengals fan, he enjoyed junking, Buy-Sell-Trade endeavors, hunting and fishing. He married the love of his life, Tammie (Bragg) Roe May 24, 1997, at Vinton, Ohio, and she survives.

To this union was born their son, David Roe of Vinton, Ohio. He is also leaving his beloved siblings, Lennie (Jan) Roe, Barboursville, West Virginia, Janie (Ron Robinson) Randolph, Gallipolis, Ohio, Carrie (Dave) Scraggs, Athens, Ohio, Harrison (Phyllis) Roe, Point Pleasant, West Virginia and Ammon (Edith) Roe, Washington Courthouse, Ohio.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded by sister, Mollie Sanders.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Monday, June 8, 2026, in Pinnacle Church, Main Street, Vinton with Ray Bragg officiating. Burial will follow in Vinton Memorial Park Cemetery, Vinton. Louis Hunt, 93, Vinton, Ohio, passed away Sunday, May 31, 2026, at his home. He was born in Pike County, Kentucky, December 8, 1932, to the late Jessie and Lettie Ramey Hunt. Louis married Betty Hunt who preceded his death in May 2013.

Louis was a retired coal miner employed by Southern Ohio Coal Company, Meigs County Mine and a member of United Mine Workers Local 1857, District 17. He will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Those left to cherish his memory are daughters: Kathy (Charles) Berry, Rio Grande, Ohio, Karen (Bret) Tackett, South Carolina and Tammy (Charles) Price, Vinton, Ohio; son, Gary (Barbara) Hunt, also of Vinton, Ohio. In addition, there are eight grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held 12:00 PM, Thursday, June 4, 2026, at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton Chapel with Pastor Zack Brumfield and Kevin Hunt officiating. He is survived by two daughters and one grandson.

He was preceded in death by his mother, father and sister.

Tom Junior Holstein, 84, of Thurman, Ohio passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2026, in St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington, West Virginia. A United States Army Veteran, Tom owned and operated his own construction company. He was born May 2, 1942, in Packsville, West Virginia, son of the late Paul David and Vivian Marie (Buzzard) Holstein. He married Lula M. “Tiny” Holstein September 21, 1963, at Stickney, West Virginia, and she precedes him in death January 23, 2024.

To this union were born sons, Todd (Rhonda) Holstein and John Holstein, both of Thurman; grandchildren, C**t Holstein, Thurman and Brittany (Chase) Davis, Gallipolis, Ohio and great grandchildren, Tucker and Hudson Davis.

In addition to his parents and wife, Tom was preceded by brother, Sam E. Holstein and sisters, Hettie Hapney, Joyce Hapney and Nellie Holstein.

Tom enjoyed being outside, where he enjoyed working – his love for his family was above all.

Funeral services will be conducted beginning 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 27, 2026, in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis, Ohio with Pastor Bob Hood officiating. Cheryl Ann Edwards, 69, of Junction City, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at Genesis Perry Medical Center, Somerset, Ohio. She was a devoted Christian, attending bible studies and she enjoyed yard sales, bingo, her grandchildren and most of all, caring for her husband, Randy. Cheryl’s entire world was her family – time spent with all of those she adored was her passion.
Cheryl was born January 6, 1957, at Columbus, Ohio, daughter of the late George and Rachel (Owens) Christy. She married her love, Randall Edwards, July 21, 1975, with whom she shared 50 beloved years of marriage, and he survives with their children, Kevin (Amy) Edwards, Bremen, Ohio and Christy (James) Brown, Zanesville, Ohio.
Also missing Cheryl are her grandchildren: Hailey (Gavin) Martin, Rutland, Ohio, Gunnar Kirby, Zanesville, Ohio, Trenton Edwards, Rutland, Ohio, Jake Egger, Bremen, Ohio, Reese Brown and Kelton Brown, both of Lubbock, Texas, Kealsea Brown and Truett Brown, both of Zanesville, Ohio and Krew Edwards, Bremen, Ohio as well as several nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded by brothers, Timothy Christy, Ernest Christy, Kim “Buzzy” Christy and George Christy.

Robert Lee Lewis, Sr., 61, of Vinton, Ohio, passed away at his home Saturday, May 2, 2026, following a lengthy illness. A United States Air Force Veteran, Robert loved the outdoors where he enjoyed fishing, camping at AEP Recreational Land, sitting around the campfire and mushrooming. An avid Michigan Football fan, he also enjoyed listening to classic rock such as Pink Floyd, Joe Bonamassa and Led Zeppelin.
Robert was born September 26, 1964, at Kalamazoo, Michigan, the son of Margaret Mollohan George, Vinton, Ohio and the late Frederick Victor Lewis. He married the love of his life, Mary (Dobbins) Lewis November 16, 1985, in Oscoda, Michigan, and she survives with their children: Jeffrey Kelley, Robert (Danielle) Lewis, Jr., and Jakob Lewis; grandchildren: Bryleigh Kelley and Benjamin Lewis and sister, Brenda Miller.
In addition to his father, he was preceded by his stepfather, Richard Ballinger.
In accordance with his wishes, no funeral services are to be held. Cremation services are under the direction of the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton, Chapel, who is honored to serve the Lewis Family.
