Oh and good moms lose their s**t sometimes, too.
Disclaimer: I’m not a mental health professional.
However, I am a functional nutrition practitioner who works through a nervous system lens, and mental health comes up in my work all the time, because you really can’t separate it from your physical health.
Plus, I’m also a mom who’s been in it.
I’ve struggled with my own mental health at various points of my life (including pre-kids).
I’ve tried powering through on my own, stayed quiet when I needed support, been too hard on myself for not being able to “fix” things, and explored a lot of different kinds of help (some amazing, some not so much).
So when I say I get it, I really do.
Over time, I started realizing that a lot of what I was experiencing wasn’t just mental or emotional, it was also physiological.
My mental health symptoms were loudest when my body was depleted, dysregulated, and doing its best to keep up. This is where things like minerals, gut health, and blood sugar

TL;DR: Your mood isn’t just about mindset, stress is complex including how it can affect you, and struggling doesn’t mean you’re failing... but you have more control than you may have been led to believe.
