“Why isn’t Father’s Day celebrated like Mother’s Day?” 👀

I recently had a conversation with a father who asked me this…
and I paused.

Because it’s a real question.

And it deserves a real answer.

This week, as we celebrate Mother’s Day 2026,
we see the flowers, the brunches, the posts, the praise.

And yes — there is something deeply sacred about motherhood.

The sacrifice of mind, body, and spirit.
The physical act of carrying life.
The transformation of a woman’s body.
The emotional and spiritual shift that comes with nurturing something from within —
whether physically or metaphorically.

For many women, it’s a rite of passage.
A divine assignment.
A visible, tangible expression of creation.

And yes…
there’s pride there.
Honor there.
Even a little ego and identity wrapped into the experience of “I brought life into this world.”

But let’s go deeper…

Is that the only reason mothers are celebrated more?

Or is it also because nurturing has historically been more visible…
more expected…
more consistently present?

And what about fathers?

The providers.
The protectors.
The quiet stabilizers.
The mentors.
The men who show up — sometimes without applause, without language for their emotions, without a blueprint.

And yes… even the complicated ones.

The absent fathers.
The inconsistent ones.
The ones we’re still trying to understand or forgive.

Where do they fit in this conversation?

Because here’s the truth:

Celebration doesn’t have to be a competition.

Honoring mothers doesn’t have to diminish fathers.
And questioning Father’s Day doesn’t take away from Mother’s Day.

But maybe it does invite us to reflect:

How do we define value in parenting?
Is it in presence?
In sacrifice?
In consistency?
In impact?

And are we willing to expand how we honor the men in our lives?

Fathers.
Stepfathers.
Grandfathers.
Mentors.
Teachers.
Spiritual leaders.

Even the men who tried… in the only ways they knew how.

So as we celebrate mothers this week — fully and beautifully —
let’s also hold space for this question.

Not to compare.
But to understand.

And maybe…
this Father’s Day, we shift the narrative.

More intention.
More acknowledgment.
More honest conversations.

Because both roles shape us.

And both deserve to be seen.

Being “Mothered” 🤍

As we step into this season of celebrating Mother’s Day…
let’s look a little deeper.

Because being mothered
isn’t always about the person who gave you life.

It’s about the people who helped you live it.

The ones who nurtured you.
Guided you.
Corrected you.
Protected you.
Pushed you.

The ones who saw something in you
before you saw it in yourself.

And yes…
that can be a mother.

But it can also be a grandmother.
A mentor.
A teacher.
A friend.
A partner.
Even a man — because nurturing, guiding, and covering
is not limited by gender.

Somebody “mothered” you.

Someone poured into your life in a way that:

Helped you grow.
Helped you remove what no longer served you.
Helped you add what elevated you.
Helped you become more of who you were meant to be.

Think about that.

Who challenged you when you were settling?
Who held you accountable when you wanted to quit?
Who loved you enough to tell you the truth?
Who created a space where you felt safe to become?

That’s being mothered.

It’s not always soft.
Sometimes it’s firm.
Sometimes it’s uncomfortable.
Sometimes it’s the exact redirection you didn’t ask for
but absolutely needed.

And here’s something even deeper…

Have you learned how to mother yourself?

To care for your own needs.
To protect your peace.
To speak life into yourself.
To guide your own decisions with wisdom and grace.

Because at some point…
the nurturing you received becomes the nurturing you give —
to yourself and to others.

So in this season…

Honor the ones who mothered you.
The ones who helped shape your path.
The ones who loved you into growth.

And maybe…
take a moment to recognize
how far that love has carried you.

“This Is Who I Am.” 🤍

Not as a defense.
Not as an apology.
Not as a warning.

But as a declaration.

There comes a moment in life —
and it doesn’t care how old you are —
when you stop performing…
and start accepting.

Fully.

The choices you made.
The paths you took.
The love you gave.
The love you withheld.
The wins.
The regrets.
The lessons.

All of it.

“This is who I am”
is not about being perfect.

It’s about being honest.

Maybe you are open, warm, engaging —
the one who lights up a room,
who loves deeply,
who shows up fully.

Or maybe…
you are quiet, reserved, still figuring it out —
protective of your energy,
selective with your love,
learning how to trust again.

Both are valid.

Both are real.

Both are worthy.

Because acceptance isn’t about choosing the “better” version of yourself.

It’s about owning the truth of who you are
without shame…
and without the constant need to explain it.

But here’s the gentle stretch:

Acceptance doesn’t mean stagnation.

It means saying,
“This is who I am today…”
while still leaving room for,
“And I’m allowed to grow.”

So let me ask you…

If you removed the pressure to impress…
If you stopped editing yourself for approval…
If you released the need to be understood by everyone…

Who would you be?

And could you say it —
softly, boldly, unapologetically:

“This is who I am.”

Sit with that.

Because there is freedom there.
And maybe…
peace too.

What Character Are You Playing? 🎬

Let’s try something…

If you could step into any movie — no limits —
which one would you choose?

The one you could watch over and over again.
The one that pulled something out of you.
The one that made you feel seen.

Now… which character would you be?

Not the “popular” choice.
Not the one people expect you to pick.

You.

And why?

What was it about them that resonated?

Their strength?
Their confidence?
Their vulnerability?
Their ability to be chosen?
To be saved?
To be seen?
To finally win?

And when you first watched it…
what drew you to them?

Stay with me…

Now shift the lens.

In your real life…
what character have you been playing?

The strong one who never asks for help?
The fixer?
The people-pleaser?
The overachiever?
The one who runs?
The one who stays too long?

Where did you learn that role?

Was it modeled for you?
Was it something you had to become to survive?
Was it the only “script” you were ever given?

Because here’s the truth most of us don’t sit with:

A lot of us don’t fully know who we are…
because the first characters we were exposed to
were the ones closest to us.

And we wore them.
Perfected them.
Performed them.

Without ever asking…

Is this actually me?

Or is this just what I learned to be?

No judgment.

Just a real question:

Do you still want to play that character?

Or are you ready to rewrite the script?

Because you are not limited to the role you were given.
You are allowed to evolve beyond the version of you that was created out of necessity.

So I’ll leave you with this…

If your life were a movie,
would you keep the same character…

Mind. Body. Spirit. Which One Needs Your Attention First?

There are three parts to you.

Your mind.
Your body.
Your spirit.

Yet when most people hear the word therapy, they immediately think of the mind.

Talking.
Processing emotions.
Examining thoughts.
Redirecting behaviors.
Investigating past experiences.

And yes… that is powerful work.

But therapy was never meant to be one-dimensional.
Because you are not one-dimensional.

Your body holds stories too.

Body therapy might look like exercise, yes…
but it can also mean building a wellness team around you.

Doctors.
Trainers.
Nutritionists.
Massage therapists.
Specialists who help you examine strength, endurance, recovery, and healing.

Sometimes therapy for the body is movement.
Sometimes it’s rest.
Sometimes it’s treatment, repair, or learning to care for the vessel carrying you through life.

And then there is your spirit.

The part of you that asks the deeper questions.

What do I believe?
What gives my life meaning?
What happens beyond what I can see?

Spiritual therapy may look like prayer or meditation.
It may look like studying philosophy.
Reading about the cosmos.
Exploring faith traditions.
Connecting what you were taught with what you truly believe.

Mind.
Body.
Spirit.

Each one influencing the other.

Your thoughts affect your physical health.
Your physical health affects your emotional stability.
Your spiritual grounding affects how you interpret both.

So what if therapy wasn’t a straight line?

What if it was a circle?

A continuous, connected exploration of your whole life.

Checking in with your mind.
Caring for your body.
Nourishing your spirit.

Not fixing one part while ignoring the others…
but honoring that every part of you deserves attention.

So here’s something to sit with:

Which part of you is asking for care right now?

Your mind?
Your body?

Do you remember that feeling?

Being young.
Unsure.
A little reckless.
A little free.

But comforted by one simple belief:

“There’s always an adult in the room.”

Someone older.
Someone wiser.
Someone more experienced.
Someone you could ask for direction, advice… maybe even money.

You weren’t the final decision-maker.
You weren’t the safety net.
You weren’t the one carrying the weight.

There was always an adult in the room.

What Is the True Work of Your Life?

Most of the rules we live by were man-made.

They were created by people — just like us —
trying to figure out how life should be lived, structured, survived, and passed down.

Go to school.
Get the job.
Build the résumé.
Follow the timeline.
Don’t ask too many questions.

And as children, rules kept us safe.
They kept us from harm.
They gave us order.

But somewhere between childhood and adulthood…
did you ever stop and ask:

Why am I living this way?
Whose blueprint is this?
And does it fit my soul?

Some of us fell in line.
Some of us rebelled.
And some quietly questioned everything —
while still participating in the system.

But what if the true work of your life
is not just to follow rules…

What if it is to remember who you are?

Beneath the conditioning.
Beneath the expectations.
Beneath the roles you learned to play.

There is something intrinsic inside of you.

Call it soul.
Call it divine order.
Call it purpose.
Call it passion.

It is the part of you that already knows.

It sits quietly —
waiting for you to listen.

The world may call it ambition.
