“But you don’t look sick.”
Remember our first WAIT… LUPUS CAN DO THAT?™
We talked about something many lupus warriors know all too well:
You can look fine and not be fine.
Because you don't have to see it for it to be real. 💜
And sometimes one of the hardest parts of living with lupus isn't only managing the symptoms—it's having to explain them to people who can't see them.
“But you don't look sick.”
That's the point.
Lupus doesn't always look like lupus.
If you live with lupus, there’s a good chance you’ve heard it before.
Here’s what lupus can look like:
💜 Getting dressed after a night of barely sleeping.
💜 Smiling while your joints hurt.
💜 Losing your train of thought mid-sentence.
💜 Making plans without knowing how you’ll feel when the day comes.
💜 Resting because your body needs it—not because you’re lazy.
💜 Looking completely “fine” while managing symptoms no one else can see.
You cannot measure someone’s health by how healthy they look.
That’s one of the reasons we keep talking about lupus.
🦋 If this is something you wish more people understood, SHARE it.
Someone in your circle may need to see lupus differently.
Let’s make the invisible visible. 💜
