As we finish up Domestic Violence Awareness Month, we want to shed light on the need for not only community support but legislative support. Delays and lacks in funding are putting survivor services at risk—forcing programs to consider staff cuts, reduced services, and even closures.

Join us in advocating for comprehensive funding so that our communities can provide the services many desperately need.

Survivors can’t wait.

Women in STEM have always been at the forefront of global health breakthroughs, but their names are often forgotten. 🔬✨

This , we honor Dr. Dorothy Horstmann—the brilliant epidemiologist and virologist whose discovery paved the way for the polio vaccine.

In the 1940s, the scientific consensus argued that polio attacked the nervous system directly. Dr. Horstmann challenged the status quo. She proved that the virus actually travels through the bloodstream first. Her revolutionary finding meant a vaccine could stimulate antibodies to stop polio before it ever caused paralysis.

Today, celebrate Dr. Horstmann’s contributions—and advocate for the next generation of girls in Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia who will change the world through science.

💡 Who is a female scientist or mentor that inspires you? Let us know in the comments!
