There are still so many good people in this world! ❤️ While our residents were enjoying lunch at Earl G. Dumplin’s today this sweet couple, Steven and Nancy Mayes from Franklin, Kentucky, surprised us by picking up the tab for everyone’s meal! What a beautiful act of kindness from complete strangers!

In a world where we hear so much about the bad, it’s moments like these that remind us there is still SO much good! Steven and Nancy, thank you for blessing our residents today! Your generosity and kindness certainly did not go unnoticed, and we hope you know just how much it meant to all of us!

The world could use a little more of this kind of kindness! ❤️

Who says Halloween costumes have to be complicated?! 😂🎃We’ve got Cookie Monster, a Spice Girl, a Couch Potato, and a whole lot of creativity happening at Highland Ridge! Our residents were such good sports, and we had the BEST time putting these costumes together! Sometimes the simplest ideas bring the biggest laughs!

❤️ A Little Kindness Goes a Long Way ❤️

Today I had the opportunity to spend some time with a wonderful group of fourth graders at Highland Elementary, and what a blessing it was! We talked about what life looks like as we grow older, what assisted living really is, and most importantly, the difference a little kindness can make in someone’s life.

One thing I hope these kids took away from our time together is that growing older doesn’t mean you stop wanting to have fun, laugh, feel included, or know that someone cares about you. Sometimes the smallest gestures make the biggest impact. A smile, a kind word, a few minutes of your time, or even a handmade card can mean more than we realize.

I spend my days surrounded by a generation that has so much wisdom, so many stories, and so much love to give. And I believe it’s so important that we teach the next generation to see the value in that.

We are so fortunate to have such a wonderful partnership with Highland Elementary! Their students and staff have been such a blessing to our Highland Ridge family, and I love seeing these two generations connect.

Thank you, Highland Elementary, for inviting me into your classroom and for the love you continue to show our residents! ❤️

It takes a village to make events like this so special! 🎃🧡 A HUGE thank you to our residents’ families, employees, and community partners who took the time to decorate trunks and tables for our Trunk or Treat! We couldn’t do it without you, and we sure appreciate everyone who helped make this such a fun event!

There are still some really kind people in this world! A while back, we did a video with our residents asking, “If you could do it again, what would you do?” One of our sweet residents said she would travel to Colorado Springs with her husband.

Well, a complete stranger saw that video and took the time to send her a beautiful book filled with pictures of Colorado Springs, along with some stickers! Such a simple gesture, but it absolutely made her day! ❤️
