Day 4.

The kids still ask for you, and I still reach for you without thinking. But we’re holding it down over here. ♥️

My momma heart hurts for my kids. Nights have been hard without you. When we settle down after a full day of go-go-go, when we hop into bed…that’s when it really hits us…we’re missing someone, we’re missing you. 💔

I’ll go first!

I struggle with mom-guilt. I can’t shake off the feeling that I should be doing more for each of my kids.
When night comes and they’re all sleeping, I feel guilt about how they’d all like to sleep beside me. So I stay up and cuddle each one already asleep. And then 4 hours later I finally settle in. 🤍 💤

What is your struggle?

Births should be treated with the utmost respect. With tenderness. With intention.

There should be no hint of rush in the way we support women during such a vulnerable time.

Birthing woman deserve gentle and tender care. During pregnancy, birth, & postpartum.

Day 3.

Nothing exciting to report.

Just little moments from our day, wishing Dad was here for them.

That’s probably the hardest part, not the big things, but all the small things you want to share.

Today was exhausting.

It wasn’t the park trip that broke me.
It wasn’t the library stop.
It wasn’t the ballet lessons with all the littles.
It wasn’t the softball game nor the drive through the heavy rain.

It’s the part when I come home and I have no one to share the moments with. 💔
On days when he couldn’t join us, we at least knew he’d be home waiting for us. We’d run through the door and all of us talk at the same time to share with him our favorite parts of the day.
Today we came home to silence.
To lights off.
To an empty chair.

Today I am thankful for technology, because we did video call him about 20 times. ☎️ And most thankful for family & friends. Because through it all, I was never alone today. Extra hands always find a way to hold me & my littles.♥️

Day 1.

Today started at 7 AM with the kids asking where dad is and why an airplane had to take him away.

I don’t know what the next few months will look like, but I do know we’ll keep showing up, loving hard, and counting down the days until we’re all together again.

Here’s to Day 1. ❤️🇺🇸

The hardest part isn’t the goodbye at the airport. It’s watching life continue without the person who was part of every ordinary moment. ❤️🇺🇸
