DID YOU KNOW?

One nostril can naturally feel more blocked than the other and it doesn’t always mean you have a cold.

Your body has something called the nasal cycle, where the tissues inside your nostrils naturally swell and relax, alternating airflow between both sides.

You may notice it more when you’re sleeping, lying on one side, or dealing with allergies or a cold.

👉 Interesting, right? Your body is constantly adjusting itself even when you’re asleep!

Small Fish, BIG Nutrition

Sardines may be small, but they’re packed with nutrients your body needs.

Adding sardines to your diet regularly can provide several important health benefits:

👉 Supports Brain Health
Sardines are rich in omega-3 fatty acids, including DHA, which plays an important role in normal brain function.

👉 Supports Strong Bones
When you eat sardines with their soft, edible bones, you get a good source of calcium. They also provide vitamin D, which helps your body absorb calcium.

👉 Supports Heart Health
Their omega-3 fatty acids can help support cardiovascular health as part of an overall balanced diet.

👉 Also Rich in Protein & Micronutrients
Sardines provide high-quality protein along with nutrients such as vitamin B12 and selenium.

Sometimes, the smallest foods can pack some of the biggest nutritional benefits.

Do you enjoy sardines? What’s your favourite way to eat them on bread, with rice, in stew, or straight from the tin? 😋👇

Ever Felt Your Body Suddenly Jerk While Falling Asleep?

Have you ever been peacefully drifting off to sleep, only to suddenly feel your arm, leg, or entire body jerk or twitch?

Don’t panic this is called a hypnic jerk (or sleep start), and it is a common involuntary muscle movement that can happen as you transition from wakefulness into sleep.

It may be more noticeable when you are:
✔️ Very tired or sleep-deprived
✔️ Consuming a lot of caffeine
✔️ Stressed or anxious
✔️ Physically exhausted

For most people, occasional hypnic jerks are harmless and do not require treatment.

However, if these movements are happening very frequently, severely disturbing your sleep, or occurring while you are fully awake, it’s worth discussing them with a healthcare professional.

👉 Have you ever experienced that sudden “jump” just as you were falling asleep?

Have you ever woken up and felt like you couldn’t move?

That frightening experience may be sleep paralysis.

Sleep paralysis happens when your mind becomes awake while your body is still in the temporary muscle paralysis that occurs during REM sleep. You may be unable to move or speak for a few seconds or minutes, even though you are aware of your surroundings.

Some people may also experience a feeling of pressure on the chest, vivid dreams, or even hallucinations. While it can feel terrifying, sleep paralysis is generally harmless and usually passes on its own.

It can be associated with sleep deprivation, irregular sleep schedules, stress, and other sleep-related conditions.

👉 The good news: Getting enough sleep, maintaining a regular sleep schedule, and managing stress may help reduce episodes.

Have you ever experienced sleep paralysis? What did it feel like? 👇

PINEAPPLE CAN HELP WITH PROTEIN DIGESTION!

Pineapple is more than just a sweet and refreshing fruit. It contains bromelain, a group of enzymes that can help break down proteins during digestion.

Adding fresh pineapple to a balanced meal may support digestion, especially when eating protein-rich foods like meat, fish, eggs, or beans.

However, pineapple is not a magic digestive cure, and eating more of it does not necessarily mean better digestion. Enjoy it as part of a balanced diet.

Next time you eat pineapple, remember, you’re enjoying both flavor and a fruit with useful digestive enzymes.
