Care Resources PACE

Care Resources PACE For most people, there are little to no deductibles or co-pays. Participants who do not meet PACE eligibility guidelines can pay for services privately.

Care Resources is a Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly, or PACE®, that provides wrap-around supportive services for people 55 years and older to keep them healthy and living independently in their homes. We partner with participants and their loved ones to develop a comprehensive care plan that meets the physical, mental, emotional and social needs of each participant and keeps them out

of nursing homes. Through our day centers in Grand Rapids and Lowell, we offer:
• Primary health care
• Home health care
• Clinic
• Prescription medication
• Rehabilitation services
• Activities
• Nutrition services
• Social services
• Transportation

PACE uses Medicare and Medicaid funds to cover all medically necessary care and services. Care Resources PACE serves those who are 55 and older and are:
• Residents of Kent County
• Residents of Allegan, Barry, Ionia and Ottawa counties living in these ZIP codes: 48809, 48815, 48846, 48849, 48865, 48881, 48897, 49058, 49302, 49315, 49316, 49323, 49325, 49328, 49331, 49333, 49344, 49348, 49418, 49428, 49435, 49534, 49544

In our organization’s early years, the reward for participating in one of our most popular — and yes, competitive — activities was candy. As we talked more with participants about their everyday needs, we realized what it would mean to offer more.

It started with a 6-foot table of donated items and today, Bingo Bucks and a trip to our Bingo Store means participants can choose personal health and beauty items, clothing, puzzles, books, cleaning supplies, small gifts for others and more. It’s just one of many beloved activities we offer at Care Resources to support a high quality of life, dignity and independence.

Summer is here, and we're seeking your support to help our participants make the most of it! We inherited the patio furniture at our Grand Rapids location from the previous building's owners. Not only is it well over a decade old and sporting rusty patches, but the chairs are difficult for participants to get in and out of due to the lack of arm support and the seat size.

We’d love to refresh our outdoor space with new tables and chairs. This space is enjoyed by more than 350 participants who come to our center throughout the month to relax and connect with others. With your support we can replace the old furniture with accessible tables and chairs for our participants to enjoy the great outdoors!

A shared love of music. An appreciation for Special Olympics. One signature handshake. That's the foundation of Ricky and Kim’s friendship.

For the past four years, Ricky has been bringing his old-school radio and headphones, outgoing personality and proud collection of Special Olympics Michigan medals to our Grand Rapids day center.

When Kim joined as CEO in 2024, Ricky’s trademark medals immediately caught her attention, but it wasn’t until a Christmas program that the two really kicked it off. A performance got them connecting over music as well as their shared fondness of Special Olympics. Before long, Ricky taught Kim the handshake he's been doing since the '70s, and it's become their tradition whenever they part ways.

Kim describes Ricky as "incredibly caring," pointing to the days he calls just to check in on the team. His story is a reminder that the best parts of Care Resources aren't found only in the services we provide. They're found in the friendships that grow, the confidence that's celebrated and the comfort of being surrounded by people who feel like family.
