🌟 Meet Our Team: Faith Colbath, RN 🌟
We are excited to introduce Faith Colbath, one of the dedicated members of our team!
Faith first came to Honduras in 2006 when her family moved here as missionaries. Growing up in a children's home surrounded by many siblings, she developed a deep love for the Honduran people and witnessed firsthand both the strengths and challenges of the local healthcare system.
These experiences inspired her to pursue nursing, earning her RN degree in Texas before returning to Honduras, this time as a missionary.
Through her ministry, Faith in Honduras, she serves in a variety of ways, including maternity nursing, teaching middle school students, and tutoring children. Her passion is to use the gifts God has given her to serve others and to help restore faith and trust in the Honduran healthcare system.
Faith brings compassion, experience, and a heart for ministry to everything she does, and we are grateful to have her as part of our team.

Last week, work officially began on the electrical project for the hospital. Crews have been hard at work marking and digging post holes, and this week they began placing the posts as they continue working toward the center of Santa Cruz.
We are grateful for the continued support from local leadership and community partners as this project moves forward.
Step by step, we are making progress toward bringing quality healthcare closer to our community. Thank you to everyone walking with us and supporting the vision of Hospital Yojoa.

Their skill, compassion, and dedication are at the center of healthcare every day. We are grateful for the work nurses do across Honduras and around the world to serve others with excellence and care.

We’re grateful to have Engineer Norman Guandique as part of our team. Norman is a civil engineer with experience spanning municipal work, private construction, and entrepreneurial leadership.

As the founder and Technical Director of NG Ingeniería Construcciones, Norman has led the planning and ex*****on of multiple projects, managing everything from budgets and timelines to on-site supervision and quality control. His leadership is marked by responsibility, teamwork, and a strong commitment to excellence.

Whether coordinating with contractors, working alongside clients, or solving challenges in the field, Norman consistently helps move our work forward with integrity and precision.

We’re thankful for the skill and dedication he brings to this mission.

Estamos muy agradecidos de contar con el ingeniero Norman Guandique como parte de nuestro equipo. Norman es ingeniero civil y cuenta con experiencia en obras municipales, construcción privada y liderazgo empresarial.

Como fundador y Director Técnico de NG Ingeniería Construcciones, Norman ha liderado la planificación y ejecución de múltiples proyectos, gestionando presupuestos, cronogramas, supervisión de obra y control de calidad. Su liderazgo se caracteriza por la responsabilidad, el trabajo en equipo y un firme compromiso con la excelencia.

Ya sea coordinando con contratistas, trabajando junto a clientes o resolviendo desafíos en campo, Norman contribuye constantemente al avance del trabajo con integridad y precisión.

Last week Hospital Yojoa physicians Drs. Anderson and Iyamu along with FSU Global Health Fellow Dr. Le had the opportunity to travel to Valle de Ángeles to teach for the ICMDA International Postgraduate Diploma in Family Medicine.

Our team taught on antenatal care as well as labor management. The team discussed the current WHO recommendations and how to apply them in the context of Latin America.

Our team was encouraged to spend time with physicians who are eager to keep learning and growing in how they care for their patients.

Special thanks to Dr. Sheree Lynch, program coordinator, for the invitation and for the work she is doing to invest in family medicine training!

La semana pasada, los médicos de Hospital Yojoa, las Dras. Anderson y Iyamu, junto con la becaria de Salud Global de FSU, la Dra. Le, tuvieron la oportunidad de viajar a Valle de Ángeles para enseñar en el Diploma Internacional de Posgrado en Medicina Familiar de ICMDA.

Nuestro equipo enseñó sobre la atención prenatal, el partograma y el manejo del trabajo de parto. Discutimos las recomendaciones actuales de la OMS y cómo aplicarlas en un contexto latinoamericano.

Fue de mucho ánimo para nuestro equipo poder compartir tiempo con médicos que están comprometidos a seguir aprendiendo y creciendo en la forma en que cuidan a sus pacientes.

Un agradecimiento especial a la Dra. Sheree Lynch, coordinadora del programa, por la invitación y por el trabajo que está realizando para fortalecer la formación en medicina familiar.
