On May 2, 2026, Cherie DeVaux became the first woman trainer to win the Kentucky Derby when her horse Golden Tempo closed from dead last to win — in the 152nd running of the race.
Here’s the mystical tie-in: 2026 is the Year of the Fire Horse in the Chinese zodiac. The Fire Horse arrives only once every 60 years — last in 1966, and now, exactly here, now. It is considered one of the most powerful and untameable animal-element combinations in all of Chinese astrology — associated with wild speed, passion, a destiny that cannot be contained, and the breaking of ancient structures.
