I am not a frequent poster, but I felt this necessary to share. I realize Christmas was designed to be a festive occasion, however this doesn’t hold true for all. Grief, loneliness,depression and abandonment, just to name a few, has a way of casting a shadow on the joy of the season.

If I may encourage us, I would say let us focus on Jesus for true comfort, rely on God’s Word to hold us up, find God’s presence in our pain.. as we remember loved ones while creating new traditions.

It is ok to allow tears to fall in the midst of hope. Isaiah 53: 3 bears witness that Jesus understands grief and is present in our pain. He offers His comfort, even when the season feels hollow. We must trust that God will guide and provide everything we need to navigate in this season and others that may resemble it. Healing takes time and God has them both. May you find comfort in these words.
