When you're co-parenting, it can be easy to spend a lot of time and emotional energy focused on what the other person is - or isn't - doing.

But what is actually within your control?

Join Kierra for a 60-minute educational and skills-based workshop exploring Locus of Control and how it can help us think differently about the co-parenting experience.

This workshop is open to one parent, both parents, grandparents, and others involved in co-parenting. You do NOT have to attend with your co-parent.

In case you didn’t know, my company, Progressing through Therapy, PLLC, currently has a graduate counseling intern! 💚

Morgan Wheeler is a graduate student at NC A&T and is offering in-person mental health counseling for just $35 per session.

And before you scroll past the word intern—remember, every therapist, counselor, doctor, nurse, teacher, attorney, and other professional you trust today was once a student learning how to do the work.

Working with a counseling intern can actually have some great benefits. Interns are actively learning current approaches, they receive ongoing supervision, and they often have more time to prepare for and think intentionally about their sessions.

Morgan isn’t doing this work alone - she is learning, practicing, consulting, and receiving supervision along the way. That’s part of how good clinicians are developed.

If you’ve been thinking about therapy but cost has been a barrier, $35 may be an opportunity to finally give yourself permission to start.

💚 WE’RE NOT CRYING… OKAY, MAYBE WE ARE. 😭💚

Today, August 24, is a bittersweet day at Progressing through Therapy as we say see you later to Asya M. Little, MA, NCC, LCMHCA.

And y’all… we are SAD to see her go. 🥹

Asya has been an important part of the PtT family, and we are incredibly grateful for the care, compassion, energy, and commitment she has shared with our clients and our team.

But here's the part that makes our sadness a little sweeter:

She’s leaving to grow. 🌱

Asya is stepping into a new chapter and investing her time, talents, and heart into building her own practice. And while we would have been perfectly happy keeping her right here with us 😏, we also believe that part of loving people is celebrating them when it's time for them to spread their wings.

So, PtT family, Help us send Asya off with LOTS of love! 💚
