Tim has a special way of connecting with every person he encounters. Kind, genuine, and relatable, he brings positivity, laughter, and deep meaning to each workday while constantly looking for opportunities to build up those around him.

His impact reaches far beyond patient care. As a preceptor for new chaplains across our North Alabama territory, Tim mentors and supports our newest team members, generously sharing his knowledge, experience, and encouragement to help others succeed.

Tim, thank you for your leadership, heart, and the positivity you bring to our patients, families, and team every day! đź’™

Angelleat is a true source of peace, compassion, and comfort to those around her. Having wholeheartedly embraced the mission of hospice, she brings that same spirit into everything she does—from grounding and encouraging our team with morning prayers to bringing warmth and joy with her infectious laugh.

Her profound impact was recently highlighted when a family publicly thanked her at a funeral for the deep comfort and care she provided during their hardest moments. Her ability to make people feel supported and connected is a beautiful reflection of the true heart of hospice.

Angelleat, thank you for the peace, connection, and grace you bring to our patients, families, and team every day! đź’™

On a recent Saturday, the wife of a patient who was actively dying reached out in desperate need of spiritual support and prayer for her husband.

Although Howell was off duty and not on call that weekend, he didn’t hesitate for a second. He chose to go, sit with the family, pray over their loved one, and provide steady comfort during one of the most difficult moments of their lives. The patient passed away later that day.

This is what going above and beyond truly looks like—showing up when no one asks you to, simply because a family needs you. Howell, thank you for your compassionate heart and dedication! 💙

When a grieving spouse unexpectedly reached out months after her loss, Lonnie stepped up immediately to provide ongoing, compassionate one-on-one support. By meeting people where they are and leading with selflessness, Lonnie has made an incredible impact on our team in a short time.

Lonnie, thank you for the heart, positivity, and grace you bring to our community every day! đź’™

Understanding Your Care Matters

When a loved one is facing a serious illness, there can be a lot to understand — medical terms, treatment options, medications, care decisions, and what comes next.

That’s why health literacy matters.

For families considering hospice, knowing what hospice really means can make an important difference.

Hospice is not about giving up.
It’s not about stopping care.
And it’s not only about the final days of life.

Hospice focuses on comfort, quality of life, dignity, and support for both patients and their families.
At Affinity Hospice, we believe families deserve to understand their options and feel confident asking questions. Our team is here to listen, explain, educate, and guide — without judgment and without pressure.
Because when families understand their choices, they can make decisions that reflect what matters most to the person they love.

Have questions about hospice? Ask Us.

Understanding your care is an important part of receiving it.

Sometimes, you just need someone who knows how to help.

A hospice social worker is there to support patients and families through the emotional, practical, and personal challenges that can come with end-of-life care.

They listen. They advocate. They help families navigate difficult conversations, connect with resources, work through concerns, and find support when things feel overwhelming.

Sometimes they have an answer.
Sometimes they have a resource.
And sometimes, they simply sit with you and listen.

At Affinity Hospice, we believe caring for a patient means caring for the whole family.
Because no one should have to navigate the hospice journey alone.

Alzheimer’s disease changes so much — but it never changes the value of a person’s life.

For families facing advanced Alzheimer’s or dementia, hospice can provide something incredibly important: comfort, dignity, and support when it matters most.

Hospice teams can help manage pain and other symptoms, provide personal care, and offer emotional and spiritual support. Just as importantly, they support the families and caregivers who have spent months or years caring for someone they love.

Because sometimes care means knowing what to say. Sometimes it means knowing what not to say.
And sometimes, it simply means sitting beside someone, holding their hand, and reminding them that they are still seen, still valued, and still loved.

At Affinity Hospice, we believe every person deserves comfort, dignity, and compassionate care — regardless of where they are in their journey.

This World Alzheimer’s Day, let’s remember the person behind the diagnosis and the families walking beside them.

Because memories may fade, but love remains.
