We want to say a special THANK YOU to Arvest Bank for sponsoring this year’s NARMC Family Fun Fest as part of our recent Hospital and Nurses Week celebrations!

Because of Arvest’s generosity and continued support of local healthcare, we were able to create a memorable afternoon for our employees and their families filled with food, fun, and laughter. The event was a wonderful way to celebrate the incredible people who care for our community each and every day.

At NARMC, we know our team members give so much of themselves to the communities we serve, our patients, and this organization, and it means so much to have community partners like Arvest who recognize and support those efforts.

Thank you, Arvest Bank, for investing in our healthcare workers and their families. We are grateful for your partnership and investment in what makes NARMC so special: the people!

Warmer weather means more time outdoors, and lawn care safety is another important reminder for families during the summer months. 🌿

Here are some lawn mower safety tips from the NARMC Trauma team:

💚Keep children indoors or at a safe distance while mowing. Injuries can happen quickly, especially when children are nearby or riding as extra passengers.
💚Never allow extra riders on riding lawn mowers. Most serious injuries involving children happen when they fall or are backed over.
💚Always look behind you before backing up. Backing incidents are one of the leading causes of severe lawn mower injuries.
💚Wear closed-toe shoes and protective eyewear while mowing.
💚Clear the yard before starting. Rocks, sticks, and debris can become dangerous projectiles.
💚Turn the mower off completely before checking blades or removing clogs.
💚Store lawn mowers safely and keep keys out of reach of children.

While no single reminder can prevent every accident, taking a few extra precautions can help keep outdoor chores safer for everyone this summer.

Along with staying hydrated and practicing water safety, protecting your skin from too much sun exposure is also an important part of staying safe this summer. 🌤️

Here are some summer sun safety reminders from the NARMC Trauma team:
☀️Sunburns are more serious than many people realize. Even a few severe sunburns in childhood can increase the risk of skin cancer later in life.
☀️Apply sunscreen regularly. Reapply every two hours, and more often after swimming or sweating.
☀️Wear protective clothing. Hats, sunglasses, rash guards, and lightweight coverups can help protect exposed skin.
☀️Take breaks in the shade, especially during the hottest parts of the day between late morning and early afternoon.
☀️Stay hydrated. Spending time in the heat and sun can increase the risk of dehydration quickly.
☀️Protect children carefully. Young skin burns faster and can be especially sensitive to prolonged sun exposure.
☀️Don’t ignore cloudy days. UV rays can still cause sun damage even when it doesn’t feel especially hot outside.

While no single step can prevent every sunburn, small reminders like these can help you and your loved ones stay safer and healthier while enjoying summer activities. 💛

We loved seeing so many team members and families come out for this year’s NARMC Family Fun Fest! 🎡☀️

The afternoon was filled with music, games, food, laughter, and time together, making it a fun way to wrap up our Hospital Week and Nurses Week celebrations. Based on the smiles and incredible turnout throughout the day, we think it’s safe to say Family Fun Fest should become an annual tradition!

Most importantly, it gave us a chance to recognize and celebrate the incredible people who care for our patients, encourage one another, and give so much of themselves to this organization every day. We are deeply grateful for our employees and for the families who support them behind the scenes through the long days, late nights, and everything in between.

We also loved seeing the event from so many different perspectives. In addition to the professional photos captured throughout the day, several employees shared personal snapshots and candid moments from the celebration, which make these memories even more special!

And finally, thank you to Arvest Bank for helping make this celebration possible for our employees and their families, and for your continued support of NARMC!

Take a look through the photos and feel free to tag your coworkers, friends, and family members who joined in on the fun! 💙
