💛🎉 What an amazing afternoon at Ascent Therapy Harrison’s Big Bounces for Big Feelings event! 🎉💛

Our goal was simple: build connections, raise awareness, give back, and help our community learn more about the mental health services and resources available right here in Harrison and thanks to all of you, we were able to do just that!

The kids bounced their little hearts out in the bounce houses provided by Waypoint Event Rentals and had a blast playing yard games from All Weekend Party Rentals. Seeing so many smiles, laughter, and families connecting made the afternoon truly special.

We were honored to partner with NARMC Pediatrics Clinic and Shatter The Stigma Foundation , giving community members the opportunity to learn more about the resources and services we all provide. We loved getting to answer questions, make connections, and share information about the mental health services Ascent Therapy offers to children, adolescents, adults, and families in our community. A huge thank you to Sip & Savor for serving up their delicious dirty sodas and beautiful charcuterie boards that everyone enjoyed!

We also want to give a special thank you to the Ascent Therapy providers who volunteered their time to help set up, connect with families, and hand out free ice cream throughout the event. And a huge thank you to White Oak for generously donating hundreds of servings of ice cream for the children and families in our community to enjoy! 🍦💙

Thank you to everyone who came out, supported the event, asked questions, learned about local resources, made connections, and helped us continue our mission of promoting mental health awareness and strengthening our community. We are so grateful for each and every one of you! We sold several of our Kindness Over Coolness T-shirts to help raise money for our Back-to-School Bash in August! Last year's backpacks went incredibly fast, so we're already working to make sure we can provide even more backpacks to children in our community this year. 💛 A huge thank you again to Sip & Savor for donating a portion of their proceeds from the event to support this effort. Community partnerships like these help us continue giving back and making a difference for local families!

❤️ Sip & Savor will be serving dirty sodas and charcuterie items, with a portion of their proceeds benefiting Ascent Therapy Harrison’s outreach programs and our Back-to-School Event in August.

✨ 🧠 Ascent Therapy Harrison will have a table set up with information about our services, referral process, and available resources for children, adolescents, and families. We will also have our “Kindness Over Coolness” t-shirts available for purchase, with proceeds helping us buy backpacks and school supplies for local children at our Back-to-School Event. Because we believe kindness never goes out of style. 😎💛

A huge thank you to White Oak Station for donating hundreds of servings of ice cream for us to provide FREE to the kids in our community! 🍦💛

We are also incredibly grateful to Waypoint Event Rentals for the bounce house and All Weekend Party Rentals for donating outdoor yard games so kids can bounce, play, connect, and have fun!

Our Back-to-School Event in August will allow children in our community to “shop” for free backpacks, school supplies, clothing, and receive free haircuts from the ladies at Haute House Salon before heading back to school. 🤗💛💛💛

We love this community and are so thankful for the opportunity to bring everyone together while raising awareness, building connections, and giving back. We can’t wait to see you there! 💛

Feeling really grounded and grateful to share this 🌿✨

For those who don’t know me, I’m Josie Shearer, LMSW the behind-the-scenes person for our page and outreach program, and one of the original providers who helped get Ascent Therapy started in Harrison.

I’ve officially completed my EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) training and am now offering EMDR in my practice. 🤗💛

My work is very heart-centered and never one-size-fits-all, especially when working with children, adolescents, and families. I love blending EMDR with somatic work (tuning into the body), attachment-focused care, parts work, and cognitive interweaves to help people make sense of their feelings in a safe and supportive way.

I also weave in Polyvagal Theory to help clients better understand their nervous system because behavior makes so much more sense when we look at what’s happening underneath it.

Whether it’s big emotions, trauma, anxiety, or just needing extra support, I’m passionate about creating a space where clients feel safe, seen, and able to grow. 🌼

📚✏️ Ascent Therapy Harrison – Back to School Event 2026! 🎒💙

We are already getting excited for our Annual Back to School Event, and we can’t wait to do it again this year!

Last year’s event was such a huge success — because of our amazing community, we were able to help so many local students start the school year feeling prepared and confident. Between backpacks, supplies, and smiling faces, it was truly an incredible day!

We are especially excited to share that Haute House Salon is partnering with us again this year! 💇‍♂️💇‍♀️
They have 15 stylists volunteering their time to provide free haircuts to the kids in our community — just like they did last year. We are beyond grateful for their generosity and heart for serving local families!

📍 This year’s event will all be held at Haute House Salon.

As many of you start your spring cleaning, we’d love for you to keep us in mind. We are beginning to collect donations and would greatly appreciate:
🎒 New backpacks
💧 New water bottles
✏️ School supplies

We would also love to partner with local businesses who may want to sponsor backpacks, donate supplies, or support this event in any way. Our goal is to make this year even bigger and better for our local families!
