For many years, Jerry Coulter shared his talent with the VMRC Juried Art Exhibition, earning recognition for his work and leaving a lasting impact on our arts community.

As we celebrate the 23rd Annual Juried Art Exhibition, we're honored to feature one of Jerry's final paintings in tribute to his life, artistry, and legacy as an internationally recognized artist and former JMU art professor.

The exhibition is on display now through June 26 and is free and open to the public. Join us at the Park Gables Art Gallery to experience the show and help us honor a beloved artist whose influence continues to inspire.

Thank you, United Way of Central Shenandoah Valley.

We’re proud to support Day of Action and the collective effort to strengthen our community through service, partnership, and volunteerism.

💜A strong community is built when people care for one another, and that spirit is at the heart of Day of Action.

Today, we're celebrating VMRC and thanking them for sponsoring United Way of Central Shenandoah Valley’s Day of Action on June 12! 🎉

Every year, Day of Action brings together volunteers who are passionate about making our communities better. Support from partners like Virginia Mennonite Retirement Community helps make that work possible, creating opportunities for neighbors to come together and serve throughout Harrisonburg, Rockingham County, Staunton, Waynesboro and Augusta County.

We're grateful for organizations that share a commitment to caring for others and strengthening the places we call home. Thank you, Virginia Mennonite Retirement Community, for helping make Day of Action a success! 😍😍

Want to be part of Day of Action? We have plenty of volunteer spots open across the Central Shenandoah Valley!

A stroke took away her words, but in just one session, surrounded by family, she sang Amazing Grace. Moments like this remind us why speech therapy matters so deeply, and why we are grateful to have therapists on our team who show up every day ready to make them possible.

As an organization with Anabaptist roots, opportunities to reconnect with the faith, history, and values that continue to shape life at VMRC today resonate throughout our community.

Recently, residents and community members gathered for a preview screening of Being Mennonite in America: Living Peace in Times of War, a new documentary by Burton and Mary Buller exploring Mennonite experiences of peace and nonresistance throughout American history.

Residents and guests were given an early look at the documentary, which has been nearly a decade in the making and is expected to air on PBS stations later this year. Following the screening, creator Burton Buller joined attendees for a thoughtful conversation about the film and its development. Many residents shared appreciation for both the documentary and the opportunity to engage directly with its creators.
