Our annual Fall Fest was filled with music, games, pumpkins, farm animals, and family. 🍂

Ruth and Abe spent part of the afternoon with their granddaughter-in-law and three great-grandchildren, while Virginia's family paused for a multigenerational photo.

Scenes like these are one reason VMRC hosts events throughout the year that bring different generations together. With activities for all ages, Fall Fest gave families a chance to stop by, spend time together, and enjoy a beautiful fall afternoon on campus.

Montessori values ask us to look at support a little differently. Instead of simply doing something for someone, the focus is on doing it with them, creating space for participation, purpose, and choice.

Anne, a Park Gables resident, has been sharing her handmade cards at VMRC's Arts and Crafts Sale for years, and she donates all proceeds from her sales to Doctors Without Borders.

A handmade card from a family member in Albuquerque inspired her to start making her own. Today, she says, "The most enjoyable part of my day is listening to classical music and making cards."

When it comes to creating, Anne follows a simple rule she learned long ago: "Trust yourself to try and then throw away the failures."

What do a jam session at VMRC, a library reading program, and a local music festival have in common?

They all help make the Shenandoah Valley a great place to call home.

A recent chair yoga session took residents out to the Farm at Willow Run, where movement, meditation, and time in nature came together on a beautiful Shenandoah Valley morning.

What began as a wellness class became an opportunity to slow down, reflect, connect with others, and enjoy the outdoors. It's a simple example of whole-person wellness in action, caring for the body through exercise, the mind through reflection, and the spirit through time spent in nature.
