Members of the IAA team recently had a fantastic time at the IAA Hartford Social Event to see 3-time Grammy Award winner Olivia Rodrigo live at the People’s Bank Arena this past Saturday! An excellent evening was had by all.

Integrated Anesthesia Associates (IAA) and the Nurse Anesthesia Program of Hartford (NAPH) were well represented at the recent AANA Annual Conference in Boston!

Here are a few highlights!

- Maria Szafranski, NAPH Program Director, for her exceptional presentation, "Precision in Crisis: Evidence-Based Trauma Anesthesia for the Nurse Anesthetist." Great job, Maria!

-Matt Golding (NAPH Class of 2028), who was selected to compete in the prestigious AANA College Bowl. Congratulations, Matt!

-The IAA Team connecting with future colleagues at our recruitment booth.

-A fun celebratory evening with our team at Boston's iconic Fenway Park.

Earlier this month, bright and enthusiastic students from nine high schools across Connecticut—including Bulkeley High School and New Britain High School—participated in the IAA 4th Annual Youth Scholars Program, which provided a focused and intensive learning opportunity and window into the world of a potential career in the field of anesthesia.

The students participated in and benefitted from:

- Daily Operating Room Shadowing: Where they observed a variety of surgical procedures
- Daily Didactics: Learned foundational concepts of airway management led by UCONN medical students
- CPR Certification: Earned official certification with hands-on training led by Kelly Gorski (Thank you, Kelly!)

Hands-On Simulation: Practiced with the actual anesthesia tools and resources in a simulated environment at Hartford Healthcare’s Center for Education, Simulation, and Innovation (CESI).

Inspired by one of our IAA physicians, who participated in a similar program while in high school—this initiative continues to open doors and create a vision for endless possibilities for local students. Special thanks to our partners at Hartford HealthCare, ReadyCT, the CESI team, IAA leadership, program leaders, and our administrative team for making this week possible.

🎉 Please join us in congratulating Dr. Vlad Frenk, MD, FASA on his appointment to a two-year term on two American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) committees: the Committee on Economics and the Committee on Regional Anesthesia and Acute Pain Medicine, beginning in 2027. These appointments recognize Dr. Frenk’s expertise, leadership, and dedication to the field of anesthesiology. Congratulations, Dr. Frenk, on this well-deserved achievement!

This past Sunday, Integrated Anesthesia Associates held our largest annual family event to date—welcoming over 300 team members and their families to Lake Compounce Park for our annual IAA Family Day!

As a family-focused practice, bringing everyone together each summer to relax, enjoy the rides, and share a meal is one of our favorite annual events.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and made this year’s event our most successful event to date!
