While many of us watch from the ground, you’re heading straight toward the danger to protect lives, property, and our community. We are deeply grateful for your service and sacrifice. Stay safe, and thank you for all that you do!

I was honored to be asked to comment on the HIMS program during the AOPA Mental Health Panel discussion at Oshkosh.

The HIMS program is one of the best examples of what can happen when safety, science, and compassion work together. It has helped countless pilots successfully address mental health and substance use concerns while maintaining the highest standards of aviation safety.

The conversation around mental health in aviation continues to evolve, and it’s encouraging to see these discussions happening openly at events like Oshkosh. I’m grateful to have been part of the panel and to contribute to an important dialogue about supporting pilots while protecting the safety of our skies.

Before lighting up the sky with one of the most exciting performances at Oshkosh, Kyle Fowler and Nathan Hammond were busy keeping everyone laughing on the ground. It’s always fun to see the personalities behind the precision.

Then it’s game time—and they go from joking around to putting on an incredible fireworks-filled airshow.

Some people just know how to have fun… and then absolutely deliver when it counts.
