What does “World Mental Health Day” mean to us? To us, it means accessibility, it means self-care but also affordable housing, food and all else it takes to be human, and it means checking in on ourselves and those around us.

It’s not just one day, and any day is the best one to start working on your own mental health. 🧠🩷

We say goodbye to September tomorrow, but that doesn’t mean talking about su***de and su***de prevention ends. It can look like checking in with a friend, going to therapy, and also advocating for better access to needed resources in our communities to improve living conditions.

The semi-colon tossed represents a pause, a moment where it’s not a permanent end, much like talking about important issues during awareness months.

If you momentarily paused at any point in your life, we’re glad you’re reading this now and that you’re still here.

Thank you for your vulnerability and sharing your story during su***de prevention awareness month.

“Su***de prevention is more than just telling people that they are not alone.

Su***de prevention is more than crisis management.

Su***de prevention is ensuring that someone has the adequate support, love, and care that they need to live in this terrifying world 💛

There’s still time left in September to learn that new hobby, catch up with that friend, or find some time for just you- whatever it may be. While you’re thinking of that thing, enjoy some wind ASMR, recorded at the Beverley Taylor Sorenson Center for the Arts in Cedar City, Utah, the original home of the Cedar Band of Paiute Indians.

September is su***de prevention awareness month, and a reminder that any month is the right one to talk about su***de.

All graphics and caption below from :

“Su***de prevention often starts with awareness—knowing fact from fiction when it comes to the topic of su***de. Su***de is not simple. It is not black and white. It is not always easy to understand. What we do know is that talking about it is one of the strongest ways we can combat stigma and make people feel safe to share their stories.
