Midwest Cardiovascular Institute is proud to once again be recognized as one of Modern Healthcare’s Best Places to Work in Healthcare for 2026 — marking our third consecutive year receiving this honor.

This recognition belongs to our entire MCI team. Every day, our physicians, providers and staff bring dedication, compassion and teamwork to the care we provide and to one another.

Proud moment for MCI: our MCI physicians, Dr. Tony DeMartini, Dr. Amin and Dr. Pelka, performed live procedures this morning at the Global CTO Event.

A chronic total occlusion (CTO) is a coronary artery that has been completely blocked for a long time - one of the hardest problems to treat in heart care.
This event brings together some of the world’s most skilled specialists from the US, Japan, Germany, and Hong Kong to perform these complex cases live and share techniques, so care keeps improving for patients everywhere.

To perform these cases live, in front of an international faculty, is the standard our patients benefit from every day. It’s a fitting embodiment of Kizuna - the bond between teacher and student, woven across borders.

A new chapter in cardiovascular care begins. ❤️

Our Cardiovascular Institute Ambulatory Surgery Center (CIASC) is officially open—and we’re already caring for patients.

In our first days, the team has successfully performed:
• Cardioversions
• Coronary angiograms
• Peripheral angiograms
• Venograms
• Loop recorder removals

This milestone represents more than a new facility. It means patients now have access to advanced cardiovascular procedures in a modern, outpatient setting designed for comfort, efficiency, and exceptional care.

Congratulations to our physicians, nurses, technologists, and every team member who made this possible. This is only the beginning.
