It's easy to miss the beauty, ease, pleasure, or even neutrality that's all around us amidst the 'negative', stressful, overwhelm, grief, anxiety-provoking realities.

This isn't toxic positivity.

It's a reminder that no matter how hard life feels, no matter what your circumstances, there is always beauty to notice.

And noticing pleasure and ease is a non negotiable to health and healing🤎

Look up at the sun.
At a blooming flower.
Notice the way your body gets tingles when a loved one hugs you.
The sound of your favorite song.
The smile of a child.
That one square of green grass.

Remember that what is 'going wrong', your grief, your stress, your overwhelm, your anxiety, your fear are not the whole🤎

(The photos captured here are merely snap shot symbols for the broader message).

Rooting for you, always- Em🌷

Our relationship with our body is the most important relationship we have.

It informs our relationship to everything and everyone else🤎

It's a relationship that is ever-evolving, fluid, shifting, rhythmic.

It's a relationship this is deeply impacted by shame❤️‍🩹

Modern culture makes it awfully hard to feel safe, accepted, and loved in our bodies and the skin we live in.

Wouldn't it be freeing to simply be in your body? Without the incessant noise to change, fix, shame, hate your body?

Why does that feel so radical to say?

The greatest shift for me has been the capacity to be with sensations, to fully inhabit my body, without having to change, fix, or abandon her.

What does this post bring up for you? I would love to hear💭

Rooting for you, always- Em🤎

If you're seeking an embodied approach to recovery, one that repairs and deepens your relationship with your body, I'd love to support you🦋

Your menstrual cycle holds so much wisdom.
She holds many of the answers you seek.
She is a reflection of your fertility, vitality, abundance.

We cannot access:

Self attunement (or attunement to others).
Discernment.
Self trust.
Embodiment.

Living in a perpetual state of rigidity, control, hypervigilance, autopilot, bodily bypassing...nervous system "dysregulation" (I much prefer "in a nervous system that lacks rhythm").

These are gifts that come alongside recovery🌹

Rooting for you, always— Em

If you're feeling called towards an embodied approach to recovery, one that deepens your relationship with your body instead of bypassing it, I'd love to support you🦋

Hypothalamic amenorrhea, low energy availability, and pelvic health (pt 2)𖦹

🎙️Comment or message me "pelvis" and I'll send you a podcast episode where I cover HA and the pelvic floor connection.

This is part of a multi-part series covering low energy availability and the impacts on pelvic health.

Another reminder that low energy availability impacts multiple body systems, and your seemingly unrelated symptoms may very well be related!

A body that is undernourished, experiencing intentional and/or unintentional restriction, will not feel safe.

This is expressed in our physiology and felt in our tissues.

Stay tuned for more.

Rooting for you, always— Em

If your interested in exploring embodied recovery coaching together, I'd love to support you🤎

For much of my life the bottom of an exhale felt unreachable.
Unfamiliar.
Uncomfortable.

I was always chasing the next inhale.

🤎

A poem from a moment of solace lying on my mat this week.
After holding both softness and jitters.
Neither right or wrong, good or bad.

I'm so grateful for the exhales of life to be available to me, to pulse through me, to be felt in my body now.

🌻🦋👐

Happy weekend, friends. Rooting for you, always.

Is your path to recovery perpetuating deeper disembodiment?

Is it setting you up for sustainable recovery?

Not just getting your first recovery period, but actually embodying the woman who is resourced, cyclical, liberated, connected to her feminine, honors her rhythms, and is deep relationship with her body?

If you're a woman who recovered fast, do you feel the tension between being "physically recovered" yet emotionally, mentally, somatically you still feel stuck?

Listen to the whispers. There is another way🤎🤲🦋

A way that encourages you towards making necessary changes without overriding, abandoning, or silencing your body in the process.

Rooting for you, always— Em

If my words resonate and you feel called to go deeper in your recovery journey (even if you've already "physically* recovered) I'd love to support you🐆

It feels really nice when science/research supports what women have always *felt* and known to be true in their bodies and lived experience.

Tending to the uniqueness and complexity of your female nervous system, to your natural rhythms, is sacred and potent work.

It is the forgotten medicine amidst the biohacking, quick fixes, and over-riding.

The permission to move slowly when your body asks.

The gentle softening of your belly as you sip your warm drink that reminds you of home.

The sensation of sunlight on your bare skin and eyeballs, your feet on the earth.

Meeting your edges, your symptoms (body's communication), with gentle compassion and curiosity.

While not suppressing the very real, very human expansive range of emotions.

My gentle invitation to you:

What might it feel like to come back to remembering, to listening, to what your body has always known?

She is so wise. You are so wise.

I absolutely love holding and walking alongside women through this journey.

Rooting for you, always✨ Em

P.s. are we surprised by this?

I remember a long while back listening to someone (though I can't recall who) share how trying to recover from an eating disorder in the society/culture we live in is near synonymous with an individual battling alcoholism trying to recover living in a bar.

And woooo-ee did that hit.

Many moons later, here is my rendition.
Both ice cream, but different flavors.

If you take one thing from this post, I hope it is this-

The invitation to come back home is always there for you🌷

It doesn't matter how long it's been.
It doesn't matter how deep the wounds.
It doesn't matter how broken you feel.
It doesn't matter if you can't feel that as truth right now.

She remembers. Your body remembers.

Wishing you a life of FULLness, ALIVEness, and one that is EMBODIED🤝

It is only going to get harder in the world we live in, I fear.

But we can choose it for ourselves- one small choice at a time, one hour, day, week at a time.

Healing generations before and after us🌱

Rooting for you, always🌷

It's time for a remembrance...

Of a woman's body as her compass.
Of a woman's intuition as science.
Of a woman's cycle as sacred.
Of a woman's lived experience as evidence.
Of a woman's knowing as truth.

Somewhere along the way, a woman's lived experience, her values, her BODY, seem to have been removed from evidence based medicine.

Dismissal of worry surrounding absent menstrual bleeds— "it's normal" she's told, "we will have you start birth control to regulate your cycles".

Something within her feels unsettled. She knows.

A diagnosis of unexplained infertility— "your only option is IVF".

The whisper within says "there's something more". She knows.

Inner turmoil, angst, emotional rollercoasters, PMS, something isn't quite right— "let's start you on an antidepressant".

She feels a disconnect. Is this truly the answer? She knows.

Low desire, absent libido, pain with s3x— "this is normal in long term relationships...drink some wine, just relax".

Her v***a tells a different story. There's an inner voice within. She knows.

It's time to call out the systems that dismiss the wisdom of a woman's body.

Systems trained to fear what they don't understand.

A woman who is fully embodied, fully alive, fully connected to her life force...

Is powerful.
Is untamed.
Is a threat.

It's time to come back home to your body, to her.
It's time to listen to the whispers.
It's time to reclaim your power.

It's time to remember...

Your body is the evidence.
