1. Prevention is better than cure. Some lumps may be too small to feel on self exams.

2. To take a closer look at something seen on a mammogram.
If a mammogram shows an area that needs more detail, an ultrasound can help determine whether it’s a solid mass, cyst, or normal tissue change.

3. For patients with dense breast tissue. Dense breasts can make it harder for mammograms to detect small abnormalities. Ultrasound can provide another layer of imaging, helping radiologists see through dense tissue more clearly.

4. When a lump is felt but not visible on a mammogram. If you or your doctor feel something that doesn’t show up clearly on a mammogram, ultrasound is often used to evaluate that area further.

Important note: While breast ultrasound can be a helpful additional tool, it is not typically recommended as a replacement for your annual screening mammogram. Mammograms remain the standard screening exam for detecting breast cancer early, even for many women with dense breast tissue. The right imaging plan depends on your individual risk factors, breast density, and personal history, so be sure to talk with your doctor about what screening approach is best for you.

Look who came back to see me… with a PROMOTION! 🩵

I scanned this little guy when he was still in mama’s belly, did the balloons for his baby shower 🎈, watched him make his grand entrance into the world… and now he’s officially been UPGRADED TO BIG BROTHER!

And this family?! Always a GOOD TIME! The entire family is such a joy to be around, and I genuinely look forward to every visit.

Thank you for continuing to trust me with these special moments. Seeing my ultrasound babies come back as big brothers and big sisters will never get old. 🥹
