💐What a spectacular day of love and connection we just shared in our community! We came together for two incredible events that reminded us all just how special our extended family truly is.🤗🌹♥️
First, we had the absolute honor of celebrating the remarkable 102nd birthday of our beloved Evelyn D. Our entire community showered her with love and warm wishes. Evelyn’s life is a beautiful testament to resilience, grace, and a life truly lived well. 💐💐
The excitement kept rolling right into our Tailgate Party! The room was filled with team spirit as residents proudly shared favorite sports memories, enjoyed delicious finger foods, and cheered on their teams together. To top off an already perfect day, we closed the evening with a live concert full of laughter, jokes, and the songs of our youth that had everyone singing along and dancing.🎈🎈🎈

"She's the most wonderful person in the whole wide world," says Bert of Jane, his wife of 69 years.

"Oh my goodness – that's the first time I've heard that," Jane laughs.

"I did really good," Bert adds. "I got a wife, two kids, four grandkids, and seven great-grandkids – and they're perfect."

An Air Force family, they spent years moving around, facing the challenges that come with not living near their support system and raising young children. "He was flying – gone nearly all the time – so that put a lot of responsibility on me," Jane shares. "But I think that was one of the best things that ever happened to me. It forced me to grow up."

"We were just kids," Bert adds.

Retirement has been kind to them, giving them time to enjoy all the leisure and fun there is to be had as part of the community at Atria San Juan. And according to Jane, their days now are a reward for a life well-lived. "We've had a good life – I feel we've been blessed."

This Labor Day, we are celebrating the incredible dedication, hard work, and history of the workers who built and protect our community!
Every week, our residents choose their own weekly bus trip adventures! For last excursion, we visited the Long Island FASNY Museum of Firefighting
making it an extra special day as some of our very own retired firefighter residents stepped up to lead the way. They shared their incredible expertise and firsthand stories, educating us regarding the historical tools and powerful devices used to conquer fires throughout history.🔥🚒🧯🧑‍🚒 After an inspiring tour, the group headed over to Crab Meadow Beach to make the most of the perfect weather. Everyone had a wonderful time relaxing under the sun and enjoying a delicious lunch at Gino's.🍕🥮 🍹Our residents returned home full of excitement from the day's events, carrying beautiful memories from the road. Days like these highlight the lifelong friendships and rich history that truly unite our community.♥️♥️♥️

“It is worth a return visit.”

Donald summed up the experience perfectly after residents from Atria Park of Lynbrook attended the Second Annual Short Play Festival at StrongBox Theater. The group enjoyed an afternoon of eight short comedies, plenty of laughs and time together exploring the local arts scene.

Brenda called the plays “very cheesy” – but was especially happy to have her daughter along for the outing. Diane simply appreciated that, “It is great to get out on a Saturday,” while Geraldine was impressed by the actors’ ability to memorize so much.

We love seeing our communities make time for local art and plenty of fun together. 🎭

Surf’s up! We enjoyed fresh beachy bites at our Taste of SoCal events.

We enjoyed French onion dip served with Ruffles potato chips, followed by California Cobb salad served with a whole wheat roll and Dole Whip for dessert!

To top it off, we watched a modern Hollywood classic, La La Land!

We can't wait to see – and taste – the cuisine from our destination next month!

For Caryl, a lifelong fitness instructor, movement has always been part of who she is. Today, she continues to share that passion by helping lead daily workout sessions with her fellow residents. What a day at Atria Huntington!❤️
A few days ago our residents gathered for a sun kissed, So Cal style Taste of Atria lunch savoring hearty soups, crisp classic and veggie salads and, treats to top it all off. After lunch the laughter kept rolling with a lively brain teasing game and a delightful Sunday Sundays lovingly hosted by our wonderful partners from Empower Me Wellness Company! From there, the afternoon flowed effortlessly into our New Resident Welcome social organically blended with our August Birthdays celebration. The residents enjoyed delicious birthday cake and ice cold lemonade. A heartfelt Thank You goes out to our resident ambassadors. Because of your warm hugs and open hearts our newest neighbors instantly felt right at home. "Have a passion, purpose and aim in your life," shares Rita, a resident at Atria Park of Glen Ellyn. At 100 years old, Rita has lived a lot of life, gathering more than enough pearls of wisdom to share.

A former cadet nurse, Rita's passion for care started at a young age, leading her into the U.S. Army and serving during World War II. So we trust that she knows what she's saying when offering advice.

📚✨ Neighbors helping neighbors! We had a wonderful, heartwarming visit from our amazing friends at the South Huntington Library today!
Jen and Mary brought the library right to our doorstep, breaking down mobility and transportation barriers for our residents. They arrived with carts packed with fiction, biographies, and history tailored perfectly to our community’s tastes—including plenty of large-print books and audiobooks. 📖❤️
It was a beautiful, interactive day of sharing book reviews, exchanging stories, and enjoying great company.

Even though the stormy weather kept everyone indoors this Sunday, our hearts were filled with so much warmth and joy. We stayed cozy inside our activities room, where we spent the day exercising, staying up to date with the news, and creating crafts together. The real highlight of our day was the debut of our "Storytellers Club," where residents shared hilarious and fond memories of community life, filling the room with shared laughter. Later in the afternoon, we were treated to live music by our very own "The Orchestra Man," whose incredible multi-instrumental talents brought back beautiful memories and made everyone feel young at heart. This stormy day turned into a beautiful reminder that the brightest sunshine is found right here in the company of each other.😀💐♥️

Vivienne is 103!

A beloved resident of Atria El Camino Gardens, Vivienne recently celebrated the remarkable milestone of her 103rd birthday with her son, daughter-in-law, fellow residents and the team at her community.

A native Californian, Vivienne proudly served in the U.S. Army, from Camp Elliott to Camp Beale and across the Pacific to Guam in 1948, where she contributed to the efforts of the 20th Air Force.

Vivienne has lived a life filled with adventure, including spending five years on the island of Hawaii. Her birthday celebration was filled with laughter and joy, highlighted by a hula dance performance from a fellow resident in honor of her love for Hawaii.

🍸What a spectacular way to ring in our company’s 30th anniversary! We threw a stunningly elegant "Pearl Party," completely decked out in the most gorgeous, shimmering pearlescent shades. A true highlight was our beautiful "Wall of Wisdom"—a heartwarming trade where residents left their best life advice and walked away sporting glamorous new pearl necklaces, bracelets, and earrings. Everyone looked radiant in their finest pastel colors; the ladies were treated like royalty with glittering tiaras, while the gentlemen looked sharp with white rose boutonnières and wristbands. We clinked our champagne glasses high as the Executive Director delivered an inspiring speech honoring our rich history and raising a toast to the future. With our favorite live Dixieland band keeping everyone dancing in place, the entire room was buzzing with laughter. We all celebrated truly in a way that bridged generations, leaving our hearts bound tighter together in a shared moment of happiness.🎈🍷😍🎭🍸🎂🎉

Some of the most meaningful artwork in our communities comes with a story.

At Atria San Juan, several of Joan's handwoven tapestries, created in the 1970s while raising her young children, are proudly displayed throughout the community. Inspired by her travels in New Mexico and her background as an art major, Joan spent countless hours at her loom creating vibrant scenes of sunsets, birds and nature.

Today, her artwork brightens the community's halls and sparks conversations, reminding us that every resident has a lifetime of creativity and unique experiences to share.

What started as a perfectly polite afternoon tea quickly derailed into the party of the century! We kicked things off in true high-society style, pairing gourmet teas with cookies and enjoying some tea trivia that made us all feel surprisingly brilliant. But the real plot twist happened when the karaoke machine fired up. The activities room went from zero to a hundred in seconds! New residents and old regulars bonded instantly, forming an impromptu choir with families and guests to belt out favorite classics. There is nothing quite like a little off-key harmonizing to build deep bonds and pure happiness! It was a beautiful, chaotic mix of sweet connections and spectacular high notes that left everyone feeling like one big, happy family.😅🎉♥️

Our Summer Carnival was pure magic!🎩 It was wonderful to see our community, families, and friends come together to create such special memories.🔮. The day was filled with non-stop joy—from laughing through an interactive magic show and exploring the future with our fortune teller, to dancing along to an amazing live concert. 🕺We wrapped up the perfect afternoon by sharing stories over a delicious spread of finger foods and sweet treats.🍨. 🍦Events like this truly bring us closer together. We had an action-packed Sunday filled with faith, fitness, fun, and fellowship! Our day began with morning mass, ⛪Tai Chi, and a lively trivia session, followed by a giant puzzle where our brilliant residents proved our group is full of masterminds!🉐💓 The fun only grew when beloved family members stopped by to visit, turning the day into a heartwarming gathering sharing smiles and hugs. After a well-earned lunch, everyone was treated to a breathtaking violin performance that put everyone in a beautiful, romantic mood. Afterwards, a high-energy game of Bingo—the undisputed star of the afternoon—was played. The activity room buzzed with excitement! We wrapped up our fantastic day with a delicious dinner, sharing stories and soaking in the joy. We all had a great Sunday and are ready for the week ahead, full of energy and excitement!❤️🍔🎭♥️
