This Week's Monday Motivational:
“Go the extra mile. It’s never crowded.” – Wayne Dyer

It’s easy to do what’s expected. But real growth and real impact happens when you choose to go beyond that.

Putting in a little extra effort, showing a little more care, and giving more than what’s required sets you apart. Most people stop at “good enough,” but the extra mile is where excellence lives.

Take that extra step. It might not always be noticed right away, but it will always make a difference.

💬 Where can you go the extra mile today?

Today, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice is the reason we are able to enjoy the freedoms we often take for granted.

At its heart, Memorial Day is not just about remembrance, it’s about gratitude. It’s about reflecting on the lives given, the families impacted, and the legacy left behind.

As we gather with loved ones today, may we take a moment to remember those who are no longer with us, and to honor their courage, service, and sacrifice.

We remember. We honor. We are grateful.

“The love remains, even as the grief transforms.”

Grief has a way of changing over time.

At first, it can feel heavy, sharp, and overwhelming, like it touches everything. But as time moves forward, grief doesn’t disappear so much as it shifts. It softens. It changes shape. It becomes something we learn to carry differently.

And through it all, one thing never changes: love.

Love is what remains when words fall short.
Love is what shows up in memories that still make us smile.
Love is what we carry forward in the way we live, the way we remember, and the way we honor those we miss.

Even as grief transforms, love continues to live on,in quiet moments, in lasting memories, and in the ways they still shape our hearts.

This Week's Monday Motivational:
“Don’t be pushed around by the fears in your mind. Be led by the dreams in your heart.” – Roy T. Bennett

Fear can be loud. It tells you to play it safe, to hold back, to stay where it’s comfortable. But your dreams? They call you forward. They remind you of what’s possible.

You don’t have to let fear make your decisions. Choose courage. Choose purpose. Let your dreams lead the way, even if it means taking a step into the unknown.

What dream are you choosing to follow, despite your fears?

Another great time volunteering with Huntington In Bloom! Lisa McComas, Ashley Latham and Ashley's family volunteered this week with Huntington In Bloom, planting flowers throughout downtown and at Harris Riverfront Park.

Lisa has been helping this program from its start and spearheaded the installation of flower boxes on the Municipal Parking Garage along 8th Street in 2016, which continue to be planted each year. Ashley and her family began volunteering three years ago.

Huntington in Bloom also does many other projects throughout the year, including for different seasons and holidays as well as the patriotic banners downtown that honor our local Veterans.
