Food, fun and festivities was the order of the day as residents from the Community Living Center attended the U.P. State Fair on Thursday for Veterans Day. Thank you to the many vendors and attendees who treated the Veterans, volunteers and staff like fair royalty and helped everyone feel like a kid again. What a perfect day! ❤️🤍💙

Attention Women Veterans!! You are encouraged to attend, either in person or virtually, our quarterly Sisters in Service event. Topics for the event are patient advocacy, Veteran benefits, and travel pay.

To attend in person, join us in Room 5150 on the 5th Floor, no RSVP needed. If you are unfamiliar with the VA, a staff member will meet participants in the entrance and bring them to the room. Attention Veterans in the Eastern Upper Peninsula! 🇺🇸

Big news: The Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center is hitting the road for a series of town hall meetings AND special enrollment events, all designed to connect you with new VA health care benefits — including expanded eligibility thanks to the PACT Act!

Why should you come?

Meet VA leaders face-to-face, ask your questions, and get updates on your benefits
Find out if you now qualify for free or low-cost VA health care, hearing aids, eyeglasses, and more (even if you weren’t eligible before!)
On-site enrollment: Bring your DD214, recent income info, spouse’s date of marriage (if married), and info for any dependents, and you could walk out enrolled

Town Hall Tour:
Connect with VA leaders, ask questions, and learn about all the resources available to you and your family! All Veterans, their families, friends, and supporters are welcome.

Enrollment Events:
Not enrolled yet? Stop by, review your eligibility, and get registered on the spot. Family members encouraged to attend!

Residents in the Community Living Center enjoyed a fun and festive carnival yesterday afternoon, complete with games, cotton candy, musical entertainment, and of course, fried food!! Thank you to all of the volunteers and service organizations for organizing games, sponsoring prizes and food, and serving lunch. What fun!
