Mary Ann Peters (Heissenbuttel), passed away on June 16, 2026, at the age of 93. She was the beloved wife of the late Gerald (Jerry) Peters, mother of John Heissenbuttel (Anne), William Heissenbuttel (Sue), Glynis Carreira, Walter Heissenbuttel (Teresa), Donna Haennelt, Marc Peters and Jayna Peters. She was the proud grandmother of 10, great grandmother of 16 and multiple nieces and nephews.

Mary Ann was born and raised in San Francisco, CA, where she attended Balboa High School. It was during high school that she met her first husband, Donald Heissenbuttel, to whom she was married until his passing in 1974.

Mary Ann enjoyed fishing with her boys and their wives, girls’ trips to Carson Valley Inn, baking for loved ones, and spending as much time as possible with family and friends.

Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Colma CA.

George Saraba passed away in Sacramento California on June 8, 2026 due to an illness. He was born in Trebinje, former Yugoslavia on September 16, 1939 to Ljubicia Mićanović (Saraba) and Spaso Saraba. George was married in November 1967 to Patricia Terzich Saraba (deceased)in Sacramento, California.George was a skilled handyman and diesel mechanic. He is survived by late aunt and uncle Mare and Nikola Saraba, his sister Ange Prcović, sister Radojka Spajic (deceased) Cedo Saraba (deceased), Lazar Saraba (deceased), Mitar Saraba (deceased) and by his three children. Maryanne Saraba, Sam Saraba, John Saraba, wife Suzie Saraba and granddaughters Madison Saraba and Sophia Saraba. George was a member of the St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church in Jackson, California.Friends and family are invited to attend a visitation July 7th 5Pm to 7 PM at Daneri Motuary. A funeral service will be held at the St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church in Jackson California on July 8th at 10 am.

David Dee McDaniel

David Dee McDaniel passed away unexpectedly on June 3rd, 2026 from a heart attack, with his loving wife Susan by his side. He was born on August 28th, 1957 in Jackson, California to David Clinton McDaniel and Winifred May (Babcock) McDaniel. Dave was preceded in death by his parents, sister Ann, her husband Mel and niece Debbie. He is survived by his sister Pat McDaniel of Sacramento.

Dave and Susan were married in 1983 and had just celebrated their 43rd wedding anniversary. They were blessed with two wonderful children, Travis of San Luis Obispo and Ashley (Mike) Seiler of Bismarck, North Dakota. Dave is also survived by two grandchildren Wren and Emmett Seiler and numerous nieces and nephews.

Dave graduated from Jackson High School in 1975 and attended Delta College. He returned to Jackson and became a member of the Jackson Volunteer Fire Department and also worked several years for Skip Harris Construction. He worked one season for Rock Morgan Logging, followed by many years at Amador Transit Mix driving a ready-mix truck. Dave was a close friend with Doug Mondani and drove lowbed and cattle truck for Mondani Trucking as needed throughout his life. After leaving Amador Transit Mix, Dave started a career working for Martin Fischer Logging in the summer driving logging truck, lowbed, and self-loading logging truck. During the winters he worked for CalTrans on snow removal and avalanche control crew out of Caples Lake and Peddler Hill. Dave transitioned to CalTrans full time on a travelling bridge crew out of Stockton. He then returned to Amador County as a full time leadworker and part time Supervisor with CalTrans. Dave retired from CalTrans in 2018 after more than 26 total years of service. After retirement, Dave worked for several local Amador and Calaveras County individuals driving water trucks on wildland fires throughout the state of California. During his last few fire seasons, he worked for Charlie Perrault out of San Diego as a water truck driver and maintenance man for fire basecamp sleeping trailers.

Dave was a devoted and loving father who took immense pride in his children’s lives. He loved creating lasting memories for his family like bringing home snow for the kids’ birthday parties, snowmobiling, and going on camping trips to the mountains and coast. He was deeply involved in their formative years coaching their sports teams including little league and travelling softball. His children were very involved in high school sports including volleyball, basketball, soccer and softball, and he always made it a point to attend as many games as possible. As his children grew, he remained a pillar of support by helping them with their home renovations, which meant taking many road trips to San Luis Obispo and North Dakota. He cherished life’s milestones like walking his daughter down the aisle in North Dakota, and found his greatest joy in being a grandfather. Another key joy for him was his kids' involvement in the Amador County Fair. He was very hands-on teaching them how to build the display over their hog pens and how to use powertools for their woodworking projects. Always the conversationalist, he loved the week he got to stay at the Fair socializing with friends and the community.

A man of many talents and hobbies, he took pride in building long-lasting solutions for his rental properties’ yards and interiors. In his relaxed moments, he enjoyed watching the San Francisco Giants and 49er games with his wife Susan, and playing Pedro with his family during the holidays. His favorite activities after retirement were growing garlic, pickling Eisley wax peppers, and taking vacations with Susan to the coast and mountains with their dogs Bella and Sadie in the 1972 all-original Streamline “Silver Bullet.”

He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and the community at large for his helpfulness, dependability, conversationalism, and deep captivating laugh.

Please join us to celebrate his life where we can all gather to share memories and honor the remarkable man that he was on Saturday June 27th at the Amador County Fairgrounds in Plymouth at 4pm. Refreshments and a meal will be provided.

Evelyn Doris Dillard, beloved mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother passed away peacefully on May 9, 2026.

Evelyn was born on April 1, 1930 to Hilario and Angela Jauregui. She was the third of five children. The family moved to Jackson, CA in 1939.

Evelyn graduated from Jackson High School in 1948 and lived in Jackson as a homemaker.

Evelyn whose kindness and warmth touched everyone who knew her had a few hobbies, such as caring for her flower and vegetable gardens. She spent countless hours nurturing beautiful blooms and growing vegetables.

One of her greatest expressions of love was through her cooking. Family gatherings were made special by including her homemade tortillas, flavorful mole and delicious enchiladas. Her kitchen was a place of comfort, laughter and togetherness.

Above all, Evelyn treasured her family. Her gentle spirit, generous heart and unwavering devotion to those she loved will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

She is survived by her daughter, Angela Grau/Gustavo; son, David Dillard/Jill; Granddaughter, Teresa Adkins/Rudy, Great-Grandchildren; Chase, Colton and Rosie; Sister, Rebecca Roberts and many nieces and nephews.

Mom raised her three kids on her own. She wen to to secretarial school to learn short hand while learning everything needed to be a maintenance tech.

She loved camping, with her kids and them to the sprint car races in which she was part of the pit crew. She also loved going to jeep jambrees, bowling, golf and gardening. But most of all she loved her kids Danny, Cathy and Melinda.

She later retired in Pine Grove Ca after purchasing her home and than marry Ruben Nieto.

Timothy R. Crotty, 99, of Sutter Creek, CA, passed away peacefully in his sleep on May 9, 2026, at home with his family present. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Born on December 10, 1926, in Springfield, Massachusetts, Tim spent his early years there and when Tim turned 10 years old his father, Timothy F. Crotty, passed away. Preceding his father’s death Tim’s mother, Helen (Downs) Crotty, who was born and raised in Sutter Creek, moved herself and Tim back to Sutter Creek, CA.

Tim attended Amador High School and later served in World War II. After his military service, he briefly attended Sacramento State College, then went on to pursue various local jobs. Ultimately, he found his passion as a logging truck driver for Winton Lumber Company, which later became known as American Forest Products. He truly enjoyed this career until his retirement in the late 1980’s. In 1955, he married Betty Busi of Jackson, CA and they shared nearly 60 wonderous years of marriage before her passing in 2014. Tim was known for his hard work, quick wit, sense of humor, kindness, and caring nature. Tim remained physically active and mentally sharp into his late 90’s enjoying the comforts of his own home and the company of his family.

Tim is survived by his daughter Christine Salcido, and by his grandchildren Jessica Terrones and her husband Diego Terrones of Sutter Creek, CA. Kevin Salcido of Sutter Creek, CA. and Gabriella Meza of Galt, CA.

While words cannot fully express how much he will be missed, his family feels incredibly fortunate to have shared so many years with him.

No formal services will be held. Tim will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife in Sutter Creek.

Frank Ellsworth Halvorson, 70, passed away unexpectedly on May 14, 2026.

Born on February 5, 1956, in Stockton, California, Frank graduated from St. Mary’s High School

and went on to attend the University of the Pacific, where he played baseball and met the love

of his life, Lori. In 1983, Frank moved to Jackson, California, where he built a beautiful life centered around family, friendship, and community.

Frank was preceded in death by his father, William “Skip” Halvorson, and his sister, Linda Haley.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Lori Halvorson; his children Amanda (Jake),

Lauren (Cypriana), Elle, and Ryan (Casandra); and his cherished grandchildren Paityn, Joanna,

Ava, and Charlotte. He is also survived by his brothers Greg (Debbie), Ronnie (Gloria), David

(Patty), Jimmy (Denyse), and John Haley, along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended

family members, and dear friends.

Frank contributed as much to his family as he did to his beloved community. He was known for

his generous spirit, loyalty, and love for the people around him. Whether cheering on the San

Francisco 49ers, spending time at Silver Lake Shanty Town, or simply being surrounded by

family and friends, Frank found joy in life’s simple and meaningful moments.

Above all else, Frank loved his family deeply. His presence, humor, strength, and unwavering

support will be profoundly missed by all who knew and loved him.

A celebration of Frank’s life will be held on May 23, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at the Amador County

Fairgrounds, Mercantile Building, in Plymouth, California.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Future Hayfarmers of Amador

County through the Amador Community Foundation website to support the Junior Livestock

Pam Saracino-Howard 76, of Jackson, California passed away peacefully on May 21, 2026 at home surrounded by her family and with her beloved cat, Woody at her side. Pam was born on May 31, 1949 in Oakdale, California to Ralph Saracino and Dorothy McHenry.Pam graduated from Jackson Unified High School, class of 1967 where she participated in many school activities and student government. She was especially proud of her Song Leaders, always saying it was an honor to be on this happy and talented squad.After graduation Pam moved to San Francisco and attended The Academy of Arts College to earn her Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, winning multiple awards and recognition for her art work. She remained in the Bay area where she met and married the love of her life, John Howard. They had one son, Kevin. Pam retired and moved back to Jackson in 2012.Pam is preceded in death by her husband John, her son Kevin, her mother, father and sister Carol Anne Smith.Pam is survived by her sister, Coni Saracino, brother in law Charles Smith, nephew Eric Smith and his wife Sue. Two nieces, Kimberley Smith and Pamela Smith McDonald, seven great nieces and nephews and eight great great nieces and nephews.At Pam’s request there will be no services. It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Karey Michael Westerman, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Karey, born on August 24, 1957, in Sacramento, California, peacefully departed this world on April 27, 2026, at his home, surrounded by the love of his family, after a courageous battle with ALS.

Karey was the cherished son of the late Kenneth and Janet Westerman, who undoubtedly greeted him with open arms. He leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter, survived by his devoted wife Erin, who stood by his side with unwavering support. He was the proud father of three wonderful daughters: Heather (Jared) Konvalin of Ione, Shea Westerman of Jackson, and Ariel (Jake) Reynolds of Rocklin. His love extended to his grandchildren, Haley (Joe) Konvalin of Ione, Alyssa (Chase) Konvalin of Pine Grove, and Ryan Romero of Jackson, and his great-grandchild, Jax.

Karey was a beloved brother to Jamie Nichols of Ione and Randy Westerman of Ione. He was uncle to Kenny (Cristal) Westerman of Valley Springs, Johnny (Amy) Nichols of Valley Springs, Justin Nichols of Sacramento, and Kari Westerman of Texas. His family was his greatest treasure, and he cherished every moment spent with them.

A graduate of Jackson High School in 1975, Karey was a man who valued hard work and dedication. He spent 20 fulfilling years at American Forest Products, fondly known as "The Mill," where he held various positions. His career path then led him to the Volcano Telephone Company, where he thrived in the sales department for a decade. Karey's journey continued at the Jackson Rancheria Casino, where he skillfully operated heavy equipment until his well-earned retirement in August 2024.

Karey's life was rich with hobbies and passions. Earlier in life he was a softball player, whose joy for the game was infectious. He was a golfer and a hunter. He was also a die hard USC Trojan fan along with the San Francisco Giants and the LA Rams. His love for cooking meant he could show off his culinary skills, which meant having many a BBQ with family and friends. His green thumb was evident in his beloved vegetable garden, where he delighted in sharing his bounty of tomatoes and onions with friends and family. Karey's fishing trips on the Bay and the Sacramento River were legendary, filled with laughter and camaraderie. Above all, Karey cherished his friendships, and his quick wit and warm smile left a lasting impression on everyone he met. His gift for making people feel welcome and valued was unrivaled, and his signature dirty jokes always lightened the mood.

A celebration of Karey's life will be held on May 29, 2026, at 2:00 PM at the Laughton Ranch, located at 90 Clinton Road, Jackson, CA 95642. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the ALS Association, in honor of Karey's brave battle.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the devoted staff at Sutter Care at Home Amador, and Hospice of Amador and Calaveras for their compassionate care during Karey's journey.

Karey Michael Westerman will forever be remembered for his spirit, his laughter, and the love he shared with all who knew him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, as we celebrate a life well-lived and a man deeply loved.
