Michael J. McCarthy

Michael James McCarthy died on June 7, 2026, at Edgerton Care Center. He was born on August 17, 1945, in the small town of Cooksville, Wisconsin.

Michael graduated from Janesville High School in the Class of 1963. Michael married Deborah (Debbie) A. Weissinger on May 29, 1971, and treated her like a princess until illness overtook him.

Michael worked at Chrysler from 1963 to 1965. He started working at Norwood Mill in 1966. Debbie started working there in August of 1969, and they met there. Michael worked at Parker Pen for 21 years, where he was president of the union for 9 years.

An outdoorsman, Michael loved to deer hunt, fish, camp, and travel with Debbie. He was also an avid golfer.

Michael loved to tell stories and jokes and was the life of the party at family gatherings. Michael also strongly believed that special occasions should be celebrated with cake.

He is survived by Debbie and by many nieces and nephews. Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Martha and Malcolm McCarthy; his brother, John; and two sisters, Maxine Rockstead and Margie Nightengale.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 20, 2026, with funeral services to follow at 2 p.m. at HENKE-CLARSON FUNERAL HOME, 1010 N. Wright Road, Janesville. Memorial gifts in Michael’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Tanya Christine Kleinhenz, age 57 of Janesville, passed away on Friday, June 5, 2026, at Beloit Health & Rehabilitation Center following a courageous battle with cancer. Tanya was born in Janesville on May 14, 1969, the daughter of Charles and Anita (Weber) Jewett. She attended Milton High School and Lake Side School of Massage in Madison.

Tanya married William “Bill” Kleinhenz on June 26, 1995, in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. She was employed as a waitress at the Ding-A-Ling Supper Club and as a nail tech at Ralph’s Beauty Salon. Tanya founded Rainbow Rays Healing Touch in 2005 where she and Bill worked as massage therapists. She was also very active in the Upledger Institute. She found great joy spending time by her pool, especially when it included entertaining at pool parties. She loved cooking, gardening and caring for her flowers. Tanya was a member of Faith Community Church.

Tanya Kleinhenz is survived by her husband, William “Bill” Kleinhenz; children, Kole (Taylor) Kleinhenz, and Kendra Kleinhenz; grandchildren, Rhea and Reagan Kleinhenz; brother, Darryl (Kricket) Jewett; aunt, Loise Wright; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Mark and Michael Jewett, and her sister, Heidi Stottler.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday June 17, 2026, at FAITH COMMUNITY CHURCH, 2939 Lucerne Drive, Janesville. Pastor Jerry Dean will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at HENKE-CLARSON FUNERAL HOME, 1010 N. Wright Road, Janesville and at the CHURCH on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Online condolences are welcome at www.henkeclarson.com.

Michael James Franklin of Janesville went home to heaven on June 5, 2026, at age 75. Michael was born in Janesville on December 1, 1950, the son of James and Bernice Franklin. He attended Janesville schools and graduated from Parker High School in 1969. Michael was a U.S. Army veteran and served two tours of duty in Vietnam.

Michael held various jobs over the years including chicken farming, working at a car wash, a boat marina, a bakery, as a concrete worker and at General Motors from which he retired after working there for 34 years. Michael especially loved and enjoyed his family and friends. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, helping others and will be remembered for his special love for animals.

Michael is survived by his son, Justin Franklin of Madison; sister, Cathy Edwards; brother, David Brey; aunt, Anna Streuly; cousins, nieces, nephews and two wonderful neighbors, Greg and Shirley. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; sister, Jean Smith; brother-in-law, Gaylin Edwards; cousins, niece, nephews and numerous friends.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 11, 2026, in the veteran’s section of OAK HILL CEMETERY in Janesville, with military rites accorded by Kienow-Hilt V.F.W. Post #1621.

Roberta "Bobbie" Wilke

Roberta Ann “Bobbie” Wilke, 92, of Janesville, was called home to eternal rest with her Savior on Friday, June 5, 2026, surrounded by her family at St. Mary’s Hospital in Janesville.

Bobbie was born on May 7, 1934, in Darien, WI, to Robert and Lura (Serl) Clowes. She graduated from Darien High School in 1952. She met her future husband, Charles “Chuck” Wilke, in school where they were prom king and queen. They were joined in marriage on May 4, 1957, at the Darien Community Baptist Church, and lived in Darien before moving to Janesville in 1966.

She was an avid baker who supplied many pies, cookies, muffins and rolls to family and friends. Bobbie took on the role of bookkeeper at Wilke Motors until she and Chuck retired in 2000. She loved the time she and Chuck spent up north snowmobiling, as well as traveling to car shows with their 1953 Hudson Hornet, watching Wisconsin Badger football and basketball games, the Milwaukee Brewers, and her grandchildren’s activities.

She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Chuck; children, Gail (Martin) Pateros, Janesville, Lynn (Steve) Zandler, Beloit, and Gary (Christine) Wilke, Stone Lake, WI; grandchildren, Scott (Sarah Apple) Pateros, Nashville TN, Kyle (Jaclyn) Pateros, Zionsville, IN, Amy (Tyler) Raddant, Oshkosh, WI, Megan (Sam) White, Janesville, WI, Craig (Christina) Wilke, Brandon, SD, and Carly (Steven) Cegla, Caledonia, WI; great-grandchildren, Leona, Lucas, Juliet, Cecilia, Eliza, Lydia, Lily, Mina, Greta, Leo, Bennett, and Steven Jr.; and brother-in-law, Edwin (Karen) Wilke, Marenisco, MI. She was preceded in death by her parents and her twin brothers, Kenneth and Keith Clowes.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at 11:30 a.m., at ST. PAUL’S LUTHERAN CHURCH, 210 Ringold St, Janesville. Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow in Milton Lawns Memorial Park, Janesville.

As an expression of sympathy, you may wish to consider memorials to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. The family would like to thank the staff at Cedar Crest Assisted Living, 4th floor staff at SSM Hospital, and Henke-Clarson Funeral Home for their care and support.

Sheila Marie Peck, age 80 of Janesville, WI passed away on May 22, 2026, at SSM Health St. Mary’s Madison Hospital. Sheila was born on June 26, 1945, in Janesville, the daughter of Cecil and Eleanor (Myklejord) Seely.

She grew up in Janesville and graduated from Janesville High School. She married Richard Peck who preceded her in death on August 14, 1990.

Sheila Peck is survived by her son, Tim Peck of Janesville; grandchildren, Richard Peck and Brantley Ehlen; sisters, Karen Bolden, Emily Goldsmith and Beverly Christianson. In addition to her husband and parents, Sheila is preceded in death by sisters, Audrey Spaulding and Cecile Semrau; a brother, Norman Quam; niece, Carol Noss; and nephew, Jim Egerstaffer.

Thomas “Tom” Briggs, aka “Unc”, age 73, of Janesville passed away on May 26, 2026. Tom lived a life marked by extraordinary talent, kindness and generosity. A world class talent in theater, he brought joy, creativity and inspiration to countless people throughout his life. He was known for his positive spirit, infectious sense of humor, strong work ethic, compassion and unwavering willingness to help others. Tom touched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know him, and his presence will be deeply missed. Beyond his work and artistic accomplishments, Tom found great fulfillment in giving back to his community. He generously donated his time to the Special Olympics, supporting and encouraging athletes while making lasting friendships along the way.

Tom is survived by his sisters, Terry Glindinning and Trudy Moore (Tom); his brother in-law Jim Glindinning(Yvonne Munro); his nephews Dustin Both, Brett Moore (Fiona), David Glindinning (Emilie), Dylan Glindinning (Caitlin) and Logan Moore; and his beloved great nieces and nephews, Lela Glindinning, James (JD) Glindinning, Harrison Moore, Archie Moore, Lyla Glindinning, Kelly Glindinning and Harper Glindinning.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ted and Tod Briggs.

Tom’s legacy lives through the many lives he touched with his world class talent, selfless acts of giving, laughter and love. While his family and friends mourn his passing, they also celebrate the countless memories that he leaves behind. He will be remembered with love, gratitude and admiration by all who knew him.

Gloria Marie Lentz

Gloria Marie Lentz (Aaberg), age 97, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2026. Born on September 19, 1928, in Stoughton, Wisconsin, Gloria lived a long and meaningful life filled with family, friendship and creativity.

Gloria spent most of her adult life in Janesville, Wisconsin. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend whose kindness touched countless lives.

She is survived by her children, Jackie Gavin (Randy), Jeffrey Lentz, Joel Lentz (Dawn), and Jennifer Skog. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Janet Marbry, her husband Thomas Lentz, her parents and siblings. Gloria was also blessed with 10 grandchildren, a dozen great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense joy.

A talented local artist, Gloria expressed her creativity through china painting, the creation of dollhouses, and many other artistic pursuits. Her imagination and attention to detail were evident in everything she made.

Gloria was known for her social nature and her ability to make friends wherever she went. During her 97 years, she built lasting relationships with many people. Her warmth, conversation and sense of humor made her beloved by many. Her legacy lives on through her family, her artwork, and the many lives she touched throughout her long and remarkable life.

At Gloria’s request, no funeral service will be held but there will be a private family gathering at a future date. Private burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Henke-Clarson Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family. Online condolences may be sent to www.henkeclarson.com.
