We serve as a platform for therapists who are passionate about improving children’s lives by providing specialized therapy services to families in the Greater Tulsa Area. "We absolutely love Kori at Speech and Beyond! She has been such a blessing in our sons physical therapy journey. From day one, she’s been patient, encouraging, and incredibly knowledgeable. She always takes the time to explain what she’s doing and makes every session fun and engaging for him.

Even with just our one day a week visits, we could tell right away how much she truly cares. She helped guide us on what to do at home so we could continue supporting our sons progress, and she was always so respectful of our choices as parents, never pushing anything on us, just offering support and encouragement.

Thanks to her, he has made so much progress and has officially graduated from therapy, which is such an exciting milestone for us! She celebrated every little win along the way, which meant the world as a mom.

McKayla, our former student who has recently completed her Doctorate degree.

We are excited to introduce you to our new SLP, Emily Dowdy. She will officially join our team June 22nd.

Emily is a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist specializing in the evaluation and treatment of language disorders, speech sound disorders and pediatric dysphagia.
She is passionate about helping children build confidence and communication skills through individualized, evidence-based therapy tailored to each child’s unique needs. Emily is also a certified VitalStim provider, utilizing Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation (NMES) as part of comprehensive dysphagia treatment to support safe and effective swallowing skills in pediatric patients. Her clinical approach emphasizes collaboration with families and caregivers to create meaningful progress both in therapy sessions and at home.
Outside of her professional role, Emily enjoys spending time with her husband, Jacob, and their 10-month-old daughter, Emma.

Teaching signs alongside spoken language can be a great way to support early communication and reduce frustration for little ones with language delays.

Gestures often develop before verbal speech, making sign language a helpful visual support for children learning to communicate. Try modeling these signs naturally during play and daily routines while also saying the word out loud (ex: signing “more” while saying “more bubbles!”). Repetition, play, and consistency are key!

Remember: communication comes in many forms, and every attempt to communicate matters. 💛
