Meet Stephen Dobyns 🌟

Today we’re featuring Stephen, our IT Administrator at Karing Hearts.

Although he has only been with Karing Hearts for just under three months, one moment that stood out to him right away was seeing the team prepare for the mission trip to South America. It showed him the heart behind this team and the commitment to caring for patients both locally and beyond.

Behind the scenes, Stephen helps keep our technology and systems running smoothly so our team can continue serving patients well.

Outside of work, he loves music, played several instruments growing up, and was a drummer in multiple bands through high school and college. He also enjoys golfing and grabbing food from Momma D’s or Opie’s Pizza Wagon.

We’re grateful to have Stephen as part of the Karing Hearts family ❤️

Updates from our team working with Ives Orozco and the team of Paz Echad ❤️

“We did it! Our fifth pacemaker mission in Cochabamba, Bolivia, has officially come to a powerful close.
In this campaign, we successfully implanted 66 pacemakers, including 3 defibrillator’s, giving a renewed chance at life to patients suffering from severe heart conditions — cardiomyopathy and cardiomegaly caused by Chagas disease. Without this intervention, these individuals faced a devastating prognosis.
Most of our patients live in deep poverty, earning around $30 per month, which makes advanced cardiac care completely unattainable. Their determination moved us deeply. One mother walked 14 hours straight to reach the hospital, knowing this was her only opportunity for life-saving treatment.
None of this would have been possible without the incredible collaboration and generosity of so many:
• Karing Hearts Cardiology, with their outstanding implanting team: Dr. Jeff Schoondyke, Dr. Fawwaz Hamati, device specialists David Mackley, and Julie Bentley NP.
• Dr. Gabriela Orozco, who provided dedicated and compassionate patient care.
• The exceptional staff at Hospital Clínico Viedma.
• Our vital partners at Abbott and Medtronic, and who generously provided the devices.
This mission was truly a work of faith, compassion, and teamwork. Every prayer, every donation, and every act of support helped transform lives.

🌟 Who We Are Wednesday: Meet Rebekah Campbell 🌟

Rebekah has been part of the Karing Hearts family for one year, serving as a Front Desk Receptionist and helping make sure our patients feel cared for from the moment they arrive. For Rebekah, one of the most meaningful parts of her role is simple but powerful: helping patients get the care they deserve and doing everything she can to help others.
That heart for people is exactly what makes her such a special part of our team. Whether she’s helping patients check in, answering questions, or supporting the flow of the office, Rebekah brings kindness, patience, and a willingness to serve each day.
Outside of work, Rebekah loves swimming, going on walks, and thrifting — and if she’s grabbing food around town, her go-to spot is Amigos!
Today, we’re grateful to celebrate Rebekah and the care she brings to our patients, our team, and our Elizabethton location. ❤️
