Forever finding lessons in the sh*tty things that happen in life, with the mentality of this happened for me instead this happened to me.

Because just like good things happen, sh*tty things happen also. It’s just the way it is. Might as well find the lessons in it.

How are you taking ownership of being more present?

I don’t know if it’s my algorithm but I keep seeing all these sequences out there that are over complicated and not very anatomically smart. Sorry, I said it 🤷🏽‍♀️

- You need to teach a sequence that allows you to be present with your students
- You need a sequence that has transitions that ANYONE in the room can do (Yoga is supposed to be inclusive)
- You need a sequence that stays true to the roots of yoga (all of a sudden yoga has turned into a movement practice and not a yoga practice)
- I say this with love, but you need to teach your own sequence, not one you burrowed, or bought, or copied. Asteya (non-stealing) is one of our principles.

I’m also happy to help you become really good at building your own sequences that are intelligent, creative, and can land on the student that’s never done yoga before and the most seasoned one. DM me to work together!

I’m exhausted by the pressure to be a content creator. My job as a Yoga Teacher, Studio Owner and Full time Mama is enough. I just want to show up here authentically and share what I love most.

We are in transition most of our days, most of our lives. The illusion of arriving somewhere keeps us in a mindless loop when we have an opportunity to live in the moments in between.

I’m incredibly busy and as a full time mom I find myself rushing allllllll the time. I wish I could slow down but the truth is that right now I can’t (this is my hustle year) and so instead what I can do right now is be present in the moments in between because I don’t want to miss out on anything.

If this resonates with you drop a 🤍 below.

1. Be kind to myself first and foremost. It was a practice of becoming aware of my thoughts, words and actions to myself and rethinking, rephrasing, and changing the behaviors that weren’t serving me. Over and over again until it just became the way it is now. I am my favorite person (after my daughter 🤍)

2. Speak the truth intentionally and kindly. Even when it’s hard. Through this lens: is it true? is it kind? is it necessary? Also a practice of doing it over and over again (making the mistakes, sometimes upsetting people) until learning how to communicate with clarity and love to those around me.

3. Listen. Like actually listen. I used to be one of those people that couldn’t wait to have my turn to speak so I would interrupt or cut the person short. Teaching yoga taught me to be present, to actually pay attention and not make things about me. When you teach, you have to listen with your whole self.

On a mission to bring hands on assists back into the yoga room. My intention is never to force anyone into a pose, or do the pose for them, but to provide the support so they can explore for stability, alignment, length, and depth.

Try this next time you teach Utthita Parsvakonasana 🤍
