A Good Colonoscopy Starts With a Good Prep.
Nobody gets excited about colonoscopy prep.
But it has an important job.

A clean colon allows your gastroenterologist to get a better look at the lining of the colon and identify abnormalities or polyps that could otherwise be difficult to see.

If you’ve struggled with prep before because of constipation, nausea, medications, or difficulty finishing the solution, tell your care team before your next colonoscopy.

A difficult previous prep doesn’t mean you should avoid your next screening.

Due for a colonoscopy or have questions about preparing for one? Our team is here to help.

Constipated Even Though You Eat Plenty of Fiber?

You’ve added the vegetables.
You’re drinking more water.
You’ve increased your fiber.

But you’re still constipated.
Constipation isn’t always simply a lack-of-fiber problem.

Slow movement through the colon, certain medications, IBS, pelvic floor dysfunction, and other factors can make bowel movements difficult.

That’s why continuing to add more and more fiber doesn’t solve the problem for everyone, and for some people, it may increase bloating and discomfort.

Sometimes the better question is:
Why am I constipated in the first place?

If constipation keeps coming back or is interfering with your daily life, it may be time for a GI evaluation.
