Healing from mental health and substance use challenges is not just the absence of symptoms. It’s having stability in daily life, meaningful connection, and the tools needed to move forward with confidence and dignity.

At South Central Behavioral Services, we believe in whole-person care — supporting the full picture of a person’s life, including housing, community connection, and ongoing behavioral health support. Recovery is not a single moment, but a journey built on consistent, compassionate care.

That is the promise of whole-person care. 💚

Someone you love may be navigating both a mental health condition and a substance use challenge. These experiences are often connected, and the person in front of you still deserves steady support, dignity, and care.

For those ready to engage in services, our Open Access process makes it easier to get started without unnecessary delays. Individuals can walk in during designated hours to complete an initial assessment and begin connecting to the right level of care.

We talk so much about taking care of our minds, but our mental health is highly impacted by our physical health. Neglecting our physical health can quickly trigger or worsen emotional distress.

ACT focuses on our clients as a whole and works to better their lifestyles by offering, not only mental health services but physical health attention as well. To boost both mental and physical health, we cover:
-Prioritizing Restorative Sleep
-Fuel with Nutrient Dense Foods
-Move Your Body

ACT offers a Wellness group that focuses on these three areas, offering education, support, encouragement, assists in physical activity, assistance with creating meal plans and grocery shopping, along with the support of healthy sleep hygiene.

This month, the ACT Flower Potting Social was scheduled, interrupting our Wellness Group. Instead, we incorporated wellness into the social, allowing the clients to participate in wellness discussion, walking around the park, chair exercises, and getting fresh air and sunshine!

Supporting someone living with a serious mental illness starts with understanding. When we take time to learn about mental health, we’re better able to respond with empathy, patience, and confidence instead of fear or stigma.

Greater understanding helps communities respond in ways that are supportive, respectful, and grounded in hope.

Mental health challenges are part of the human experience — and with the right support, recovery is possible. 💚

Walking alongside someone through hard seasons without trying to “fix” everything is one of the most powerful forms of support a community can offer.

Presence, patience, and compassion can make a meaningful difference for someone navigating mental health challenges. Sometimes the most helpful thing we can do is simply listen, stay connected, and remind someone they are not alone.

At South Central Behavioral Services, we believe healing is supported through connection — within families, communities, and care teams working together to walk alongside individuals in their journey.

When healthcare providers, community partners, and neighbors work together, more people find a path to healing and stability.

At South Central Behavioral Services, we see every day how collaboration strengthens whole-person care. Whether it’s connecting individuals to treatment, supporting daily living needs, or helping people stay engaged in their communities, recovery is strengthened through partnership.

This May, we celebrate the networks of care that make healing possible — and the communities that show up for one another. 💚

Hastings and Kearney Rehab had a groovy time Celebrating May's Mental Health Awareness week.

We ended the week with a Disco Dance! The clients enjoyed crafts, games, a dirty soda table, and of course a far out lunch!

This Memorial Day, we pause to remember and honor the courageous men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten.

While Memorial Day is a time of remembrance, it can also be a difficult day for many veterans, service members, and military families carrying grief, trauma, loss, or painful memories. Reaching out for support is a sign of strength — and no one has to carry those burdens alone.

At South Central Behavioral Services, we believe mental health support, connection, and compassionate care matter for those who have served and the families who stand beside them.

❤️ If you or someone you know is struggling, help is available 24/7 through the 988 Veterans Crisis Line.

The words we use in our schools, workplaces, community groups, and everyday conversations can shape whether someone feels safe enough to ask for help.

A compassionate response can remind someone they are not alone. A judgment-free conversation can open the door to healing.

We believe supportive communities are built when people choose empathy, understanding, and hope — especially when talking about mental health.

This May, let’s choose words that open doors, encourage connection, and help people feel seen and supported. 💚
