Last Friday, Unity House clients made the most of the cooler weather with a fishing trip to Yanney Park. It was great to see those with more fishing experience helping their peers learn the ropes, making it a fun day of teamwork and encouragement. And yes...a fish was caught!

We love seeing our clients build skills, support one another, and enjoy time outdoors together.

Staff accompanied clients on a community outing to the Hastings Museum. During the visit, everyone explored a variety of interesting exhibits, including the popular Kool-Aid exhibit, where they learned about the history of the iconic drink. The group also enjoyed watching two engaging planetarium shows, providing an education and entertaining experience for everyone. Overall, the outing encouraged learning, community involvement, and social interaction in a fun and enriching environment.

Staff and clients attended the Adams County Fair in Hastings, where we explored a variety of animal exhibits, visited local food vendors, and viewed the judged craft displays and handmade goods in the exhibition buildings. The outing provided an enjoyable opportunity to experience the fair, appreciate the community's talent and agriculture, and spend quality time together.

Our Day Rehab participants in Hastings got ready for the 4th of July holiday weekend by creating delicious ice cream sundaes topped with plenty of red, white, and blue spirit! It was the perfect way to celebrate together before the holiday.

As we celebrate Independence Day and 250 years of the United States, we're reminded that some of the best traditions are the ones that bring people together. ❤️🤍💙

🎆 Fireworks in Our Neighborhood: Know the Rules & Stay Safe🎆

As we celebrate the holiday, let's help keep our community safe and enjoyable for everyone!

📍 Where are fireworks allowed?
Fireworks may only be used on private property. It is illegal to light fireworks in Hastings streets, sidewalks, or parks.

🕙 Approved Hours
June 28 – July 2: 10:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.
July 3 – July 4: 10:00 a.m. – Midnight

🗑️ Proper Disposal
Soak all spent fireworks and duds in water overnight before placing them in your household trash. Please note that Hastings Fire & Rescue no longer accepts used fireworks.

📞 Reporting Concerns
If you experience noise violations or see illegal fireworks, please call the Police Non-Emergency Line at (402) 461-2380.
🚨 Call 911 immediately for emergencies.

We are so sad to say goodbye to our Specialized Children's Services Program that has supported Foster Families for the last 35 years.

It is with a sad heart that we announce the closing of SCBS Children's Services. Today will be our last day of business. We thank you all for your service over these past 35 years that Children's Services has served the children and families through foster care and adoption in Nebraska. This decision was a very hard one to make as an agency, but due to changes with DHHS and how foster care is being done this was something we were forced to do. Again, we are so thankful for all of you and the support you have shown over the years! Signing off~ The SCBS Children's Services team.

On Friday June 19th ACT staff took 6 clients to Pete’s Safari! Clients enjoyed looking at the animals and even getting to feed and pet some!
